Brief description of the issue:
This is a visual bug in the ATR. If you select “My throttle has no reverser” When you are on the ground if you set your throttle to idle it goes to the GI setting which is correct. When in the air the animation for the throttle locks the throttle at the FI setting which is also correct, the issue is when its locked here the physical hardware throttle is at 30% you can reduce your throttle to idle and it will reduce the plane to idle but the animation for the actual throttle remains in idle during this phase (Please watch the video below as its easier to explain)
Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:
In the meantime, maybe try to use the reversers in a different way. I have a Warthog throttle and use the exact same method, detent insert, that I use for the A320, with the reverse thrust on the same axes.
I basically place the idle position further up the throttle axes, so that there is some room below for reverse. The Notch and Ramp detents seem to align pretty close to where the CLB and Flex detents for the A320 are, so I’ve calibrated them that way. To make the most of this method, you might want to get a physical detent insert, as with that, even in VR, it is very easy to find Idle, Notch and Ramp.
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
Yes. ATR 72-600 on Xbox series X with Velocity One Flight Stick.
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
Also similar issue with Gust Lock. Set up to use reverser on same axis. On the ground Flight Stick and Visual Throttle agree from full reverse to max throttle with Gust Lock and Flight Idle Stop disengaged.
With Gust Lock and Flight Idle Stops engaged visual throttle won’t move once throttle is advanced beyond Flight Idle but engine responds to full throttle movement from idle to max. Same behaviour in the air.
