ATR72 - Joystick functions (turn and brakes) inoperative when Cold and dark start

Brief description of the issue:

When I do a Cold and Dark flight, after having started up all the engines, FMS and so on, the some Joystick functions of my Hotas WarThog are inoperative. I can not turn (right, left) and brake.

Start a flight in Cold and Dark with the Hotas Warthog device (Joysitcj and Throttle)

Having the same issue with thrustmaster T.16000m

No brakes, steering, and for some reason the flaps won’t move to 15deg, it’s stuck. Most other functions work. No problems with other planes.

I haven’t tried starting up other than cold-and-dark, so can’t confirm this is a factor yet. I would vote but I’m new.

Gust lock?

For information the gust lock only affects aileron, elevator and throttle but that could very well be the next problem if we can resolve this first issue so well worth mentioning. Keeping ahead of the aircraft :blush:

Thank you! It was the hydraulics. Wasn’t in the checklists, and I missed that part in the YouTube tutorial I was using.

look up on the overhead panel to click off all white buttons for backup hydrolics - worked for me.
