Brief description of the issue:

When attempting to stretch a display window from 8192x2160, works at 8192x3000, etc, but much beyond triggers a “sanity check” that immediately reverts output to 4k (probably because anyone trying to run an XBox on an 8k display will experience problems). Sim becomes totally unusable, need to reboot OS.

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

The sim becomes totally unusable when the bug hits

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

  1. Have an 8k video wall (4 x 4k screens in a 2 x2 grid)
  1. Select “Windowed output”
  2. Stretch window across lower display to give 8192x2160 view - works fine
  3. Stretch window to 8192 x 3000, works fine.
  4. Attempt to stretch to full 8k x 4k, triggers the aforementioned “sanity check”, which is neither needed nor desired for PC users. The drop to 4k resolution also totally bypasses the video card’s acceleration, meaning that you’re now doing all rendering on the CPU - which at 8k x 4k results in almost zero frame rates, and total unresponsiveness.

PC specs and/or peripheral set up if relevant:

4 x 50" 4k Smart TV screens in a video wall of 2x2, giving 100" and 8k x 4k resolution - works fine until you trigger the bug by trying to go 8k x 4k
2 x ArcLE 16gb video cards (in 8k x 2k, with each card responsible for the screens on one side - so rendering a 4k x 2k slice - GPUs are not working hard at all - truly amazing)
128 gb Kingston Fury RAM 3600
i5-12400 (with the two video cards, 8k x 2k output gives only 16% CPU utilization, so it’s not a CPU resource issue)
ReBAR is on
DirectX 12 is on
Most setting are Ultra (except those that no longer make sense at 4k and up resolution but are needed to “improve the experience” for users of lower-resolution displays).

Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue:

Only got the second Arc Thursday night (Feb 23), installed and tested on latest update which installed prior to running the sim, but the bug probably has existed for a long time - it just took someone wanting and able to run at 8k x 4k to trigger it
