If my headset crashes for some reason, now the audio cuts out even when the VR resets. This didn’t used to happen. it would switch to desktop speakers until the heaset restarted. So far can’t get sound back
I get this occasionally switching out of VR mode. I lose sound and can only get it back by rebooting the PC.
Getting the same on my TV with audio going to the TV speakers. Turn off the TV and then back on again I lose all sound except warning tones e.g. AP disengage, stall horn etc.
Have to reboot PC to get sound back.
Problem was introduced with SU8
Likewise, almost every time I toggle away from VR I have no sound when I toggle back to VR, more than a little annoying.
When I exit the VR mode I end up in the cliff house of WMR and the sound stay in my reverb G2 headset. to get the sound back in PC mode I have to close the Window Mixed Reality. Before the SU8 I didn’t have this behavior CTRL+Tab closed automatically the WMR at the same time it return the sound to PC mode. When I updated I didn’t change any setup. I noticed when I install the SU8 there was a openxr update that I also install. Some time when I close WMR the sim stop responding. Anybody have this issue ?
My system: Windows 10, I9-9900, 32 gib Asus RTX 3080ti Realtek sound driver
Yes, I have this also, though I have found that it can generally be ‘fixed’ by Ctrl-Alt-Del and starting Task manager at which point the sim usually comes back to life. Seems a bit weird but, for me, it works on most occasions.
Restarting WMR has doesn’t start my sound again so I’m still looking for a solution to that one.
SU8 has been full of audio quirks. I don’t think it’s VR specific. I have to reset my Windows 11 audio source each new flight.
Any workarounds yet?
It’s not possible to switch out of VR and back to VR - at this point sound is lost and I can’t find any way to bring it back other than msfs restart.
Frustrating.
A new audio quirk seems to be cockpit interactions when the ATC is talking. Trying to roll the speed control on a longitude and other events I’ve noticed and the cockpit wants to ignore you. And since MSFS has failed to fix the other planes obeying ATC, you get a constant litiny of decend to, descend to, descend to, to jam up the comms.
Not sure if others are having the problem still. I did a new PC build and the audio has been flawless since.
I’ve been experiencing the same issue with the new Valve Index I just got. Good to know it’s an issue everyone is seeing and I’m not the only one.
