Audio Stutters In Menu / Globe And On Ground / During Flight

Made no changes to my setup from last weekend to this weekend. Only change was the new SU4 beta update. Popping and stutters in both flights in Fenix. So frustrating.

Are you getting those audio popping and stuttering in the air only? For example mine is only in the air shortly after departure. Then it happens during descent also closer towards around 10,000 ft or less.

Yes only in the air. None of these issues ever appear while on the ground.

3 flights in Su4 beta no issue (fenix and pmdg). Now flight number 4 in the fenix from DUS to NUB and it is back to stuttering.

Same here, had a couple of really good flights yesterday during the day, but later last night and this morning the audio stuttering is back again. Also FPS lower than yesterday despite the same settings.. previously I thought it had todo with photogrammetry or heavy scenery around Europe and US, but been flying over Turkey and still get them.

AI aircraft has an issue with SU4 and can degrade performance huge should be solved with build .14

I’ve been using a lot of VR recently, only for VFR general aviation flying but as we know VR is very demanding on hardware. Despite this I experience zero audio stutters during these flights.

I am in Fenix right now flying IFR from EKCH to EGLL on a monitor and right after departure I started hearing audio stutters every 10-20sec. It’s so annoying.

Has anyone tried the sim on the new 25H2 build? On the new SU4 beta version 16, still getting popping and stutters.

I had few good flights today with 16. Very smooth and no headphone crackling at all with the 172 and Fenix A320 out of KLAX. We will see if it just wasn’t a stroke of luck today to be disappointed again in the next couple of days.

From what I’ve read, 25H2 isn’t supposed to help MSFS or gaming at all. I had 25h2 along with the newest Nvidia update for SU4 beta 15 and it was horrible for me.

I am on 25H2, no audio issues at all, coming from 24H2 where it was flawless as well.

As I wrote in other posts, the audio stutters disappeared a few months ago and never returned. Even in SU3, despite massive stuttering I never had audio issues.

I hesitate, as I don’t trust Microsoft with it at this early stage.

I have made a topic about this also in the SU4 Beta channel. I experience this for a long time. In 2020 there where really high CPU temps over Germany. And now those temp spikes are gone in 2024 but the audio stutters are there as a replacement.

Something is really off with Either Asobo or Microsoft which is ruining every bodies flights,

AMD 7800X3d peaks with noise cracks and stutters in SU4 Over Central Germany - Sim Update 4 Beta | MSFS 2024 / Install, Performance & Graphics - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums

I people could upvote that one as well so we get it to the attention of the devs as this clearly is a big issue for a lot of people.

I just updated windows from 10-11, HAGS causing me terrible stutters and audio cracking. I didn’t have this with it on in windows 10. I shut it off and my audio is back to normal.

On 25h2, updated to latest Nvidia update, updated the latest SU4 beta and had great flights yesterday with no stutters or audio issues. Today audio stutters happened immediately while spawning to a parking area.

After making so many different changes in bios for months, disabling audio devices that I don’t use and changing things in Nvidia control panel and windows game mode, I think we will just have to wait until Asobo figures it out. I’m also part of the PS5 beta and none of the problems I’m experiencing on PC are in the PS5 beta.

Dangit! I was hoping maybe it would help and haven’t updated yet.

The servers are just bonked this evening (on US east coast). I’ve been lucky the past couple of days and they haven’t been as prevalent but they are in full swing tonight. HORRIBLE audio stutters when departing KSFO.

I just wanted to post with my own experience with audio stutters and image stutters. I started having them in SU2 and also with SU3. During SU3, I tried all of the things in this thread (bios, hags, reinstall the OS, graphics settings in sim, no overclocking, etc). For my system I have found several things that have stopped the audio stutters and most of the image stutters and I do this with every sim update and now with every SU4 beta version (and with nvidia driver updates) so far it’s worked:

  1. Clear all caches using the msfs2024 toolbox app and delete the MSFS 2024 rolling cache

  2. Keep the MSFS rolling cache at 16gb. I had experimented with 64gb and it actually got worse.

  3. Moved the MSFS 2024 rolling cache to my D: drive. My theory here was that all the activity on C: with both the Windows OS, MSFS 2024 constantly streaming/storing data and my other apps for flight sim and also the MSFS rolling cache was too much for one drive even with an SSD. This change solved the audio stutters completely and some of the image stutters.

I will still get some image stutters if I don’t use DLSS swapper to keep the DLSS files updated when MSFS reverts to older versions. I also keep my frames locked to 30 (60 with FG) and use dynamic settings to manage LODs and that really helps control the image stutters. But the change of the rolling cache go D: stopped the audio stutters completely (I had always done the other items mentioned in MSFS 2024 since it was first released). I really hope Asobo finds a solution here as it’s such a common problem and maybe putting the rolling cache in a different drive than the OS and the sim is part of the solution (or is a workaround for whatever is really causing the problem). They don’t seem to talk about this much unless I missed it on one of the dev twitch streams.

Last week I had terrible stutters and popping in the CRJ and Fenix. I updated to Windows 11 25H2 yesterday morning. Completed a flight from EDDF to LEPA in the Fenix. No stutters or sound popping, absolutely perfect flight. I had PBO disabled for that flight. Today for the return flight LEPA to EDDF I put PBO to enabled and put my -25 all core offset back. Once again perfect with no issues.
