In celebration of the 80th Anniversary of D-Day Invasion (6th June). I’d like to acknowledge Medps/CheerfulLlama38 (David) for suggesting the event and providing supporting information.

The first part is historically accurate apart from Dunkeswell, where we will initially assemble, since it is recognised by Asobo. The actual assembly field 80 years ago was nearby Upottery (WP1), which still exists as a disused and easily recognised concrete runway, 10/28. Hence, we execute an LFS at Upottery for the ‘official start’ of the flight. Then, WP2-9 are all historically accurate waypoints, with the Easy Company drop being at WP9.

A Coffee break at Guernsey (keeping a wary lookout for the occupying German forces), the fly-past of the 5 invasion beaches and the final LFS at St Gatien. To retain a sense of reality, the ideal aircraft for the flight is the Classic DC3 (faux C47) in ‘invasion colours’.
