Event reminder …
In case interest anyone,
SBPA is closed because Rio Grande do Sul floods Katrina alike.
Planes are being redirected to SBCO or SBFL.
I really would like to see a custom SBPA with at least part ressources going to RS. I certainly would pay to help. Government asking donations and lots of people lost their homes. Airport probably will only reopen end of the year, now teams are cleaning and reforming, but there is still chance water returns.
News below talked about 24h, but it was just the very beggining, Porto Alegre faced 5m underwater in some regions. It is closed by more than a month and damages to the runaway and buildings were severe.
I landed there plenty of times as passenger, one of my favourites in Brazil.
