Return home safely (Southeast Asia to Europe) — Post-War 1948+

  • Aircraft: Douglas DC-6 (KLM livery recommended)

  • Operational Profile: Heavy propliner management and strategic island-hopping.

  • Background: We wrap up the campaign in the period following the Japanese surrender in 1945. Everybody wanted to go home and the DC-6 became the primary long-haul workhorse for the journey back to Europe.

  • Flight Notes: This is a heavy, complex aircraft that requires careful technical management. We will cruise between 10,000–14,000 feet at 220–240 KIAS. Keep a close eye on Cylinder Head Temperatures (CHTs) and plan your descents early. Using the Automated Flight Engineer (AFE) is highly recommended to help manage the cockpit workload.
