Hello @eightbitdad2794, I don’t have discord and infact don’t really know much about it…. I am a bit behind in the technology there….
I am keen to see the bush trips though and have a chat on here.
I am in and out of the forum as I am very busy in my normal job. But. I must say that the content you and others have delivered has been amazing and I am super impressed and happy to support you in any way I can.
I really cannot wait to see what is delivered by Microsoft next week. I recon it will absolutely be next level and everyone will be blown away by it.
I wanted to get a variety of landscapes (mountains, plains and so on) in the front half, focused on getting the best bang for my buck. Knowing little about Tasmania, I googled photos to get a better idea of what the areas looked like. This was the end result.
I’ll tweak it a little bit once I do the actual test flight to make sure everything is fine, but apart from that, this is what the finished product will resemble (for the most part).
As someone who has extensively flown across Western Australia, I really hope they add grain silo models and detection - they’re a massive navigational aid across the wheat belt.
And the main thing I’m looking forward to is water masking in the north west, and Great Barrier Reef!
And proper trees please!
@MEWSIK - just go into the Microsoft Store within Windows 11 and search for “Windows Maps” - it’ll be the first available download. Just download and install it, then it’ll appear in your programs list in Win 11 as “Maps”.
Once you run Maps, you’ll need to change the map type from “Roads” to “Aerial” to see the photo maps. Zoom in to Sydney (for example) and hold your right mouse button to change the view angle to see everything in 3D.
They are almost certain to be done in 3D Photogrammetry given the maps update.
I also have a little source but not confirmed, that YBCS could be one of the hand made airports in the update.
I haven’t done any modelling in this version of the sim yet, but I can imagine that mapping all the grin silos in Victoria might be quite fun, especially as a kind simmer has modeled at least two types of silo already.
Yes, grain silos and weighbridges, what a combination.
I had a look at the new maps app for windows and if the update looks as nice as that i think i will be one happy aussie simmer. Castle Hill in Townsville looks so nice compared to in game now. Fingers crossed.
