Auto Trim: Does it exist?

Because trim is my number one irritation. As soon as I hit the AP he/she knows exactly how to level off the plane, but me…? Not. A. Chance.

Does this sim have an Auto Trim button/shortcut?

The A320 does with its fly by wire control system. I don’t think the Citations have auto trim. I’m not aware any of the general aviation planes having one but I could be missing something. I’m sure others will fill in the gaps here.

So it’s aircraft system dependent and I’m not aware of a response to bind to the controls.

As far as I know there is no trim assistance in the game like there is for say… gyro drift calibration. Trimming isn’t too hard though, it just takes some practice. Grab something like the Cessna 172 and just practice straight and level flight over and over until you get it. It wont take long, and it’s a basic and essential skill you need if your interested in simming.

If you are only interested in the game aspect rather than the sim aspect then… “git gud”, is the appropriate response I hear. :stuck_out_tongue:

TBH, a more appropriate response is ‘Auto Pilot Assist’. I lean on it. Heavily.

Yup, blip the autopilot on, ALT Hold (if not selected), wait for the plane to level off, switch the autopilot back off, and listen to the appreciation of your passengers.

Autopilot Assist? Moi? Never done that in my life, officer!

Thing is you need to hold the nose level and wait for the speed to settle, then start trimming to release pressure off the yoke.
If you don’t let the speed stabilize the aircraft will want to move up or down depending on the speed change.

Being new to flight sims I am also finding it difficult with the trim after getting what I think is the correct trim and flying level I notice the plane bouncing between clime and descend
I am taking it that it’s the wind affecting the plane
But an watching people on youtube I dont see this happening
