Brief description of the issue:
Note: This may be related to the other non-towered ATC SU11 bug, where you can no longer click the ATC window at airports with a CTAF. Or it might not. But I’m just throwing this out there.
If you try to get the automated weather at an uncontrolled airport, well, first, you will run into the aforementioned bug in the above note. But if you were to use your keyboard to check the automated weather, you will see that the weather text, which used to scroll at the bottom, no longer does.
This only happens at uncontrolled airports. In the attached videos, below, I do one at Fresno’s KFAT (controlled) and one at Fresno’s KFCH (uncontrolled) and you will see that the weather scrolls just fine at the controlled airport.
Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:
Fresno Yosemite Int’l - KFAT (controlled): No problem. Weather scrolls in the ATC window just fine.
Fresno Chandler Executive - KFCH (uncontrolled): Bug. The weather doesn’t scroll.
Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:
- Start Microsoft Flight Simulator.
- Start a flight cold and dark with your favorite default plane that has a COM radio at a default controlled airport that has an ATIS. I chose the Cessna 172 at Fresno’s KFAT. (This will not result in a bug. Also, note: I said “cold and dark” because if you start on the runway, you’ll have to take off and then listen to the ATIS. “Cold and dark” has nothing to do with the bug. If you want to fly and tune into ATIS, go ahead.)
- Start the plane and use the ATC window to listen to the ATIS.
Expected result: The ATIS window scrolls with the text.
Observed result: The ATIS window scrolls with the text. (As I said above, no bug. This is just to demonstrate that it works fine at controlled airports.) See the above video at KFAT.
- End the flight.
- Start a flight cold and dark with your favorite default plane that has a COM radio at a default uncontrolled airport that has an ATIS. I chose the Cessna 172 at Fresno’s KFCH, right down the street.
- Start the plane and open the ATC window. Because of the aforementioned bug, use the keyboard to listen to the automated weather.
Expected result: The ATIS window scrolls with the text.
Observed result: The ATIS window does not scroll with the text. See the above video at KFCH.
