This happened to me on PC yesterday - first time I’ve encountered it (even after having used the Longitude since SU4, so it would be strange for it to be related to that).
Same symptom, randomly disconnected with the accompanying alarm.
I’ll try other aircraft (PC12/PC24 tonight) to see if I have the same issue.
Today I managed to capture the errormessage, that shows up for just a fraction of a second, when the Autothrust disconnects. As a PS5 player I took a video from my TV and luckily it disconnected just after a few seconds. So I could scroll trough the video and get this error, which is shown in the G5000 in the Cessna Citation Longitude. In the shown case the plane was a FL 400 or so, leveled out and in stable cruise at Mach 0.800 (as I have set up) ± few knots.
Unfortunately the other planes, where I saw disconnecting AT, didn’t show any message, as far as i can tell. At least I haven’t seen one yet.
This message is only visible for a some milliseconds or so…
Today I did a few longitude VIP missions. In one mission i hat AT stable for several minutes. In another flight it disconnected every 10 seconds. I could not find any logic behind it.
Did you observe this in other planes too? I have it in many of them. Longitude, Visionjet, pc12ngx, pc24….
None of them keeps AT alive for a longer timeperiod
Maybe it’s relevant: Currently I only play carreer mode. The above mentioned issues were found using carreer mode. But i guess, they are also relevant for free flight mode, but I haben’t tested.
Upon trying to replicate the AT disconnect issues: It happens very often in carreer mode for me.
Had also a A/T disconnect on the 737 Max today. I couldn’t say if it was the same bug, I observed on the other planes. But it did only happen once in the 737, so I am not sure, if it is the same bug or had another reason.
But for the PC12NGX, PC24, Citation Longitude and the Vision Jet i can confirm, that they all suffer the same AT disconnect issue. Can we please get a fix, soon?
Had also A/T self-disabling on 737 Max. It did not turn of the A/T-Master but the glowing Speed button went off by itself. It is much more rare than in other planes. It happened only in one of eight flights with the 737 max and only once.
I suggest: In order to replicate the issue use the Cessna Citation Longitude or the PC 12. There you see the issue way more often and intensely. Here you can get the full annoying effects of that bug.
Same issue. I crashed my vjet because i didnt pay attention (yes, i know i shouldnt, its sim, but… :i often read book or watch news while cruisingD)
AT disconnecting randomly. I am using dualsense PS5c touching nothing, suddenly AT goes down.
Annoying, but still - great game to play

Update on the issue: The 737 Max in career mode has this definetly too. I had it several times today. Once it happens you sometimes can not simply re-enable speed or N1 mode. You have to disable the A/T main switch and enable it again in some cases. This seems to be an evidemce to me, that something internally crashes completely. Often you won’t notice that it happened, cause it does not yell “Autothrottle” as the Cessna Citation does. You just wonder that the plane ignores the speed constraints.
It does not happen as often in the 737 Max 8 compared to the cessna citation longitude or the PC12 ngx… But the 737 shares the same issue, definetly !!
So to my mind, it seems to be a fundamental issue of the msfs itself, not only the affected planes. At least at carreermode, as i currently only play carreermode and haven’t tested the free flight mode in depth yet.
I also have the same problem, flying the Cessna Longitud in carreer mode.
Are you on PS5 too, or on another platform?
Still an issue as of 1/31/2026. On PS5, career mode in the PC12, AT is randomly disconnecting by itself. It happened 6 times in the first hour of a 2 1/2 hour cargo mission, and then all of a sudden I just got a mission failed for going too far off the flight plan. I was literally on nav mode following the magenta line. Good grief.
So annoying. Hope for a fix in SU5, or earlier please.

I’m having this same problem on the Vision jet on PS5. Like you said, sometimes it stays engaged for a while and sometimes it continues to disconnect.
Wasn’t sure if it was user error with a wrong setup on the plane or if it was a bug.
Many PS5 players have dealt with this issue since the game launched. It is very frustrating when the Longitude cockpit repeatedly announces “autothrottle” during the whole flight. I am surprised that this and the random avionics reboots still haven’t been fixed.
When do we get fixes to these gamebreaking issues?
I am so annoyed by the autothrottle issue, the cursormode bug, the avionics crashes, the losing track of an already etablished glideslope (ILS) due to the APP mode selfdeactivating…. Etc.
We payed full price for this collection of gamebreaking bugs. I am very very upset.
Flew today my longitude. Lost the Autothrottle more then 10 (!!!) times in just one carreer mode flight from Milwaukee to Telluride… Yeah, a fix is needed desperately !!
The issue is on the longitude far more present and worse than in the 737 Max.
The constant autothrottle alerts in the Longitude are driving me crazy, especially when they keep going off after it randomly disengages.
Issue is still there. I fly with cirrus vision and I assigned a specific key on dualsense to AT set to manual, all of a sudden AT disconnect randomly.
