So for the use of the sim and simulating the whole flying experience, have any of you actually bought physical charts? Airport plates and the like? I am also a scanner buff and listen to the aviation bands… I am in Memphis and have programmed in the Memphis ZME Air Traffic Routes and I would love to look at the map of when the pilots transmit and say they are over Holly Springs area or whatever place they reference so I can follow along on the scanner or if I am on the Sim, actually use real charts? If you have bought them, where do you buy them? Looking for any advise or what you may of done and why… thank you all!
Do a search for faa sectional charts in your browser. Many options from which to choose…
Cheers!
You can of course buy them by searching as @Seven7Tango suggests, if for whatever reason you want physical paper charts.
For the purpose you describe it would seem www.skyvector.com would meet your needs. Those are also real-world FAA charts, but available for free and in a convenient digital format online.
Since you are asking about Memphis, in addition to the enroute and sectional charts you get to directly when you open the site, you also find the approach, DP, and STAR charts on this page:

Hi there,
I moved your post to our Community Support section.
You can get FAA charts for free on faa.gov. Not all countries put their charts up for free, but the US does.
You can also buy charts at Sportys. However, for the purpose of flight simulation, you can also go on eBay and buy expired charts at reasonable prices.
Go down to your local airport and talk to the friendly folks behind the counter. Last time I was their inquiring about a sectional, a regional pilot overheard my conversation and quickly offered up his recently retired one. He had just replaced it. So I bought some approach plates. I still have those, but rely on Navigraph Desktop Charts for everything else now.
