I am experiencing an issue where all electrical circuits, including avionics, turn off after about 5 minutes flying. It does not matter what aircraft I am in, if it is not the old steam gauges it will shut off.
When it does no access to radio, flaps, G1000 or anything.
Would anyone know what is going on as this has just started happening?
Sounds like you are just running down the battery. Are you turning on the generator(s)?
Airplanes are set up to be able to isolate all sorts of electrical issues so alternators/generators get their own switch which you turn on generally after the engine is running.
Scan the dash switches and see if there isn’t/aren’t switch(es) for alternators/generators.
I am using a Honeycomb Throttle Quadrant and a Logitech Airbus joystick.
AMD Ryzen 7 3700 8-Core 16GB RAM
NVidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super
The system was fine until about 2 weeks ago when this just started happening. I have checked switches and no mappings are wrong. Even using cockpit switches I cannot turn electrical back on.
My favorite aircraft are the Jabiru 160 and for that the GPS goes off. The Cessna 182 and the entire cockpit goes dark and the Norman Islander and the GPS goes off.
Sounds like the alternator is not being engaged (or is being disengaged). Check your input devices, if anything is bound to the battery or alternator master and isn’t doing what you expect it may be forcing it off even if you think the switch in the cockpit is on.
If you start on the runway or in the air, the airplane should be properly configured for flight with alternator/generator(s) on. You could try that and see if it runs longer than it is now. But also what Vibstronium said - if you have a control turning alt/gen off, then this wouldn’t work.
