As per the thread title, avsim has banned viewing their forums unless you are signed in? That’s me never frequenting there again then. I’d rather not sign in over there. Shame really, some useful info amongst the mire.

I had been pondering where you stood on that. Now we know.
What’s the issue with logging in? When on my phone or PC, when I’m logged in, I remain logged in.
Not sure why AVSIM have taken this step though - maybe they have bandwidth issues or something.

Just a matter of principle for me after the way they treated me. I won’t air their dirty laundry here though.

The premise of this topic appears to be false.
Viewing without being logged in is still possible:
and as ever, comments cannot be made unless logged in
It may well be user error, as in if your stored favourite points to a specific profile, set up by you, then indeed, the forum will not let you log into a personal profile anonymously.
If you use the forums link: Forums - The AVSIM Community then you can indeed view the forums and the rest of the site anonymously.
Front page says “Unrestricted guest access to forum content has been restored following a period of system performance testing.”

The premise of the topic wasn’t false. At the time it was posted it was true. If you read the avsim front page announcement you’d see that.
