B787 MCDU Question

Hello!

I really enjoy manually entering all my flight plan info into the MCDU. Normally I plan my route in ForeFlight (easier to visualize) and then start putting it into the flight computer. For the 787, is it possible to input/change the vias and transitions within SIDs/STARs/Approaches? I normally fly the A320 and its very clear how to change the vias and transitions, but I am not seeing this on the 787. Any help or pointers are greatly appreciated!

Happy Flying

I haven’t tried since SU5 but, I’ve operated on the belief the MCDU has to be operated via the flight planner prior to starting the flight. To do it during the flight outside of Working Title panels introduces frustration in encountering the last waypoint turn back bug and inability to utilize the direct function properly without messing up the flight plan.

Yea, admittedly the 787 MCDU isn’t as good as with the A320. I think you can change SID/STAR routes, not sure about transitions though. It’s just really slow, bugged and different from what you’d get, say on the QW787.

Unfortunately I had thought as much, but thanks for confirming. I suppose I will wait in hopes of further sim updates and probably stick with the A320 for the time being. I have at least be pleasantly surprised with working the A320 MCDU with only encountering the turn back bug on occasion, mostly when trying to change plan mid-flight.
