Welcome to the 142nd flight event across the GUNNER DOWNUNDER series. This week we will be flying thru the Banff National Park in Canada, and the event is again guaranteed to give you more of the unique and challenging flight experience that you have come to expect from Gunpilot’s flight events.
We head west from just outside Calgary in Canada thru the Banff National Park, reaching our destination located a little to the north of Nelson. Along the way we will fly over majestic snow covered mountains and pristine lakes that beautifully reflect the colour of the sky.
Around midway along our route we will be dropping into the world famous Fairmont Banff Springs hotel, literally pulling up at the main entrance. Located in the heart of Banff National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the world-famous Fairmont Banff Springs is a landmark in the picturesque alpine town of Banff, Alberta. Canada’s “Castle in the Rockies” has been providing legendary hospitality to guests since 1888.
As usual, challenges will have to be accepted and attempted as we travel along our flight plan, providing some extra excitement for everyone.
*Again, a packaged up WEATHER file has been developed and included along with the flight plan, negating any need for anyone to dial in weather settings, as well as ensuring that all pilots are experiencing exactly the same weather conditions. The Weather Preset file is located in #gunpilots-events (click GUNPILOT’s Server to be taken there). Extract file into your Community Folder prior to launching your sim for the flight.
Remember, you will be dropping onto the departure runway in a Cessna Grand Caravan!
