In my first and only comment, made after the launch of the MSFS2020, I pointed out problems and the impossibility of flying over the poles. It is something no less important than other problems of the time. But the promise to ‘fly anywhere to anywhere’ becomes incorrect. Nothing has changed so far.
And this is my second opinion.
Since the release of MSFS2024, I’ve observed some interesting things in the behavior of the simulator. With the modernization of the flight model and excellent implementations and improvements over the years, the simulator has become better. However, shortly after the launch, on November 19, 2024 (my birthday), I realized that there was something that, in addition to being wrong, showed that not everything in the simulator is the simple application of Newton’s third law, that is, for something to occur, it is necessary for another event to occur and this event causes what is expected of it. I’ll be clearer. On the Baron, when I started the engines, I realized that the direction of rotation of the engines was (and still is) reversed. However, the direction of the angle of the propellers is correct. From inside the cockpit, the engines must rotate clockwise so that the propellers produce traction according to the angle of the propellers and generate all the consequences of this in the displacement of air. So, as I accelerated, I waited for Baron to move backwards. But, to my surprise, it went forward, took off and everything else, with the engine spinning contrary to what it should. In other words, in reality the propeller is not part of the flight model in the sense of interaction with the air, generating all the expected aerodynamic effects. It is clear that what happens is only the perception of the simulator knowing that the engine has been accelerated, that the pitch of the propeller is at a certain point and this causes the plane to move. That is, still very close to FSX with table readings to change the behavior of the model. I hope that these little things, which make the difference between a simulator and a toy, can be improved in the coming years.
Thank you.
