Thinking of ordering one own a 3090 is it good enough also the base stations on steam at £139 each seem much cheaper than even the discounted ones through Varjo do they work or do they only work with valve index . So no idea about lighthouses had a rift then a G2. Should I go for a Q3 and save loads of money.
My Aero arrives monday and I ordered a single £139 base station 2.0 from Steam instead of the bundled base station. It’s listed by Varjo as compatible and you’re less likely to suffer delays. Some customers have been waiting ages because they ordered the bundle and the delivery process has been complicated by the two products coming from different locations.
I’m not sure you’d be happy going from a G2 to the Quest 3. It’s pretty uncomfortable without an upgraded headstrap and you’d be sacrificing fps for resolution. Those who have prefered the Q3 over the G2 have 4090s. I’ve heard stories about both the Q3 and Aero headsets turning up with dead pixels, so I’ll be checking mine closely when it arrives!
Thanks you are doing exactly what I am thinking of doing hope it works out ok for you. Suspected I would be disappointed if I went for Q3 . I am not buying a 4090 . It will be 5090 before I change again . The question is will a 3090 be good enough on a varjo
It depends of what level of visual quality you expect. If you bump up the resolution and you also have some demanding add-ons the frames will not be that great on a 3090. If you go for medium settings and keep the resolution and the headset PPD at a reasonable level it should work fine.
