Basic screenshot guide for VR using OpenXR Toolkit

With OpenXR Toolkit we can now easily take full res screenshots in VR without a ton of needless fiddling. Just install the app, set up your keybind, and done.

You might even be able to use your joystick software to bind a joystick to the screenshot command.

If you want a 16:9 aspest ratio you can batch edit the photos using a image editing program very easily. I used the BIMP plug in for gimp, load the folder, one click and it converts all to the new aspect ratio and res I just did 1920x1080. Pics shown, only thing to note is it’s taking one of your eyes for the pic so is helpful to try and center your view, my left eye is dominant so I set that for screenshots but often the center of the image is off from what your center of view is. So for me using left eye I need to look a little to the right to try and center it, closing one eye can help if you really want it but not really needed.

I also found the image to crop a little low based on my head position but never enough to really worry about it.

Probably obvious to most of you but haven’t seen a post actually mentioning it so figured I would make one so anyone still trying to figure out how to do VR screenshots can find it.
