Exactly the same thing happened to me on Live Weather. And from what I remember from a real trip to Japan some years back, the same happened!
Check out Florida in the midst of summer. Perfect, clear day on take off and while you’re getting up to cruise you’ll see faint radar paints starting to display. Sure enough when you’re ready to land, you’re in a LIFR situation… always fun.
I thought about it, but the cloud rendering was just too nice to give up.
That’s here in North Carolina too. One “weather guesser” used to call them popcorn storms because of the way they just popped up out of seemingly nothing. The three things found here in the middle of July are the perfect mix for them - high heat, high humidity, and low pressure.
