Black Square gone very quiet on the Starship. No new news regarding release or is it being held over for the release of MSFS2024?

They have said the target date was “mid november” so my guess is that it will see the light after MSFS 2024.

This is about the only reason that I have any interest in 2024 to be honest.

But AFAIK the Starship will be first released for 2020 and then optimized for 2024.

They might change their mind once 2024 is released. If all users quickly abandon 2020 in-masse then maybe they decide to release it for 2024.
Think that will probably be very unlikely , as new tittles are always now seemingly released semi broken or just unfinished. i think 2020 will still get plenty of use but will happy to be proved wrong

Yup, I think it all depends on the number of bugs in the release.
The power play would be to have a fully 2024 optimized aircraft early at release.
Given that 2024-native aircraft need an significant 3D model rebuild to deal with the modular LOD, etc. it’s not just a matter of “let’s spend a few days bringing the flight model over to the new 2024 version.”
And given this thing has custom instrumentation, I’m guessing native 2024’s going to take some real work.
That said, once 2024 is out, I’m not going to be buying new 2020 SDK aircraft even if they are 2024-compatible, so I’ll anxiously await the 2024 version of the Starship!
During the Global Preview presentation, the Scaled Composites Proteus with its twin boom tail and twin-wing/canard was specifically shown as a possibility of the new 2024 engine:
The Starship looks like it could similarly benefit from the diversity of aircraft shapes now available and would be a natural fit for 2024.
What are you basing that on?
A Starship release for 2020 would be a welcome distraction right now. Just sayin’.

As a huge fan of the Starship I’m worried about this project we didn’t get any news and the last one was “Mid November 2024” so maybe something happened?
If anyone has an update please post it.

Yeah, I think we’re going to need to be a bit patient, particularly with smaller developers like Black Square. Lots on their plate updating products for full 2024 compatibility

2024 has probably thrown a wrench in things, and it also seems that the sounds have been causing delays. Hopefully we can get a status update soon.

Pretty accurate retelling of the behind the scenes story of the plane.
They are cool looking tho. And I would for sure considering buying for flightsim even if only for beauty-shots.
