ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: The Engine will fail after a few minutes of flight without reason

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Every Flight

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Start Up

  2. Takeoff

  3. Fly in cruise for about 5min

  4. Engine fail. Fuel is set correctly. No over stressing the engine

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

Please add a screenshot or video of the issue occurring.

Which is your cruise altitude ?, have you adjusted the mixture lever (red) based on the altitude ?

Sea level. Full mixture. Switching tanks didn’t matter. Full fuel. I did see another user say this was also going on in the SU3 beta archives

What is your altitude in feet or Flight Level when the engine malfuntion happens ?

Depending of your altitude, you need to adjust the mixture. You cannot be at full mixture if you are flying high and this is most probably why your engine is losing power.

Same for me the Engine stops working after around 5 minutes in flight doesn’t matter what you do. Workaround since months is to de activate under realism setting the failures

Same here, finaly i found this thread. After a few minutes its over for the Engine. I can see an overstress in devmode → Debug → Wear and Tear. Piston_Engine goes down really fast. It shows an Overstress for no reasons.

What RPM and manifold pressure have you set when this happens?

I understand this concept. I am flying at full rich at sea level. It will fail shortly after takeoff. Even if I reduce power when leveling off.

I am having the exact same issue, the strange thing is my friend I fly with a lot has this aircraft and it does not have this problem, he can fly it for hours. We went over everything made sure our setting were identical and mine had this issue every flight but his does not. So this is not happening to everyone which is baffling.

What I believe is the issue is that a specific addon is overrides the planes cfg file. Much like the Lockheed Super Constellation will overwrite the AMS2000 Altitude Management and AS92 Radio. This would explain why the V35B engine blows on my sim but it works perfectly fine on my friends system. It will take a process of elimination to figure out SPECIFICALLY which aircraft addon that in interfearing with the V35B.

What does the oil pressure and oil temperature look like?

100% fine, I am backing RPM down to 2400 oil temp and pressure are fine.

I found a FIX for this issue. Enable Dev mode, open the Package reorder tool. Uncheck only show scenery and scroll through the packages and find the V35B Bonanza. Move it DOWN on the tree, below ALL other aircraft, the lower on the Package order, the higher the priority the package is and just like magic the engine failing problem goes away. So what that means is that there is a 2024 aircraft that has a config file that was overwriting the V35B Bonanza and giving it those incredibly short wear and tear ratings before an engine malfunction. Which one, I do not know, I guess I could bump it down the list one aircraft at a time and use the process of elimination to find the guilty aircraft but that will have to wait…..I HAVE THE BONANZA BACK YEAH!!!

I fixed it, go into your package reorder tool and move the V35B Bonanza lower on the Package list, lower than any aircraft in the game and it will fix the aircraft. One of the 2024 planes is overwriting the aircraft cfg file. Moving the Bonanza down gives it a higher priority and fixes the issue.

Doesnt work for me

Did you use the package reorder tool? If so did you move it DOWN on the list, below every aircraft in the tree?

Yes and I doesn’t work

Did you move it to the absolute bottom of the list where EVERYTHING is above it?

I just tried this fix and it worked great for me–thanks much!

Awesome, I am glad it worked for you as well. Just out of curiosity, have you tried the Bonanza Professional?
