How is the takeoff location relevant?
same here i donât know how location can be a factor. btw R6point0 are you having the same issue with the bell 407?
Please, try the following process :
- Move any single folder temporarily from Community folder to any other safe location for backup
- Shutdown any single application but Flight Simulator
- Start again MSFS and check again
- Next report here
Tried the remove a folder process, Doesnt change anything. Same event at KSEZ and KLAS, 5 Minutes of run time, everything shuts off, last time I didnât even bother flying, just left it idling on tarmac, didnât touch controls, and it still died. Anyone have any ideas?
Since I didnt crash because I was already on the ground, just letting it run, and just keeps trying to restart its self, but the power keeps cutting out.
Using the Thrustmaster A320 TCA with Throttle and addon if that helps.
I had posted above that I had mapped a button on my HOTAS to SET STARTER 1 (HOLD). It turns out that was causing the issue I was having with the battery draining and systems shutting down. This has been reported before with numerous other aircraft where the starter doesnât disengage. I remapped the starter to SET STARTER 1 (itâs different from the hold command). I also monitor the battery voltage after engine start to make sure it is starting to climb. So far, so good.
When I finally got around to it, I tried disconnecting my throttle quadrant, that fixed it, I was just using the default mappings , so something in there, like the STARTER 1 issue you mentioned is the culprit for sure, so for now I just added a blank profile for Heli flying, will add some buttons one by one as I need them. That was a head scratcher for sure lol
how exactly do you fix it though? I tried everything and still nothing works
So I tested my method again today, got over 10 minutes before I ended the flight, so it seems to still be valid. Make a new blank profile for your TCA throttle (Dont copy, go to preset manager, and click new. There will be no settings in there. Then add a mapping for Collective Axis as shown in the screen shot. This is the bare minimum to fly the stock helicopters, you will want to at least add Rotor Longitudinal and Lateral Trim to your HAT switch on the flight stick to fine tune the flight, but thatâs just for comfort and control. Hope this helps. (Also, again, this is for the stock helis, if you have add-on 3rd party choppers, I have no idea what else is needed.)
The display is going black when the battery becomes completely drained. To prevent this from happening, make sure to:
Flip the ENG switches off prior to starting a flight. This only applies to the piston aircraft (e.g. C172, DA40).
Unbind the âSet Starterâ from the ENG 1 switch
Unplug the TCA Airbus Quadrant
Additionally, check the magneto switch on your yoke. Set it to âBothâ instead of âStartâ because âStartâ will also drain the battery.
If the problem persists:
Close Microsoft Flight Simulator
Unplug any peripherals you do not need to use to reproduce the issue
Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator
Then go to Options > Controls Options
For each peripheral plugged in to the sim, toggle âDefaultâ under your peripheral name
Click âApply & Saveâ
If the issue stops while using the default keybinding, simply rebuild a custom profile from the default mapping or use the default mapping.
