ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Bell 407 cannot be cold started.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
Bell 407

REPRODUCTION STEPS

  1. Spawn Bell 407 in parking or fly it from runway then land and completely shut down, stop rotor and wait 10 minutes.
  2. Follow all steps in checklist for starting.
  3. After pressing starter, some encouraging sounds are heard, but N2 never goes up, it stays at bottom of scale.

N2 goes up a little as part of usual starter engagement, but never above as engine never starts. Is as if fuel is not supplied. Confirmed fuel switch was set to on.
Additional info: Autostart key binding has same result of the engine engaging the starting rotation but seeming to never receive fuel to fully start.

Same issue occurs on the Cabri. You can start the helo with the quickstart button but not according to the checklist. On the Cabri this is particularly annoying because 1) the start button is not pressable. Not only is it not easy to maneuver the camera to look at the top of the collective where the button is, it’s not an interactive button in this cockpit. But even binding a keypress to the starter button doesn’t work. The starting light comes on and nothing happens. 2) Using the quickstart procedure during the very first career mode training mission–as prompted by the tutorial–fails the mission and causes it to restart.

my favorite helicopter is still your Bell 407 . Unfortunately, the manual start doesn’t work at all. The machine can be started but then nothing happens… i.e. the system no longer responds to any inputs and no display of the rotor speed or other values ​​appear

Cold and dark does not work, but neither does ready to fly. This issue only happens to me if I choose a starting location on the ground, including parking gates.

I don’t understand why the Cowansim JetRanger (which as they will admit, is not in any way designed for 2024) flies far better than the 407.
The 407 in 2020 seems exactly the same until you add the excellent simfocus mod.
It is as if it has just been copied and pasted across from 2020 to 2024… despite having 4 years of bug reports as chances to make it perfect from the start.

When the simulation changes, the behavior of the helicopter also changes… the ND bell 407 flies very comfortably except for the fact that the cold’n dark start suddenly no longer works

Gonna bump this because the cold and dark start continues to not work, as well as throttle mapping not function, but that’s a different story

CTRL-E doesn’t work nor does manual start. The fuel PSI goes up when turn on the fuel pump even if the valve is closed or the throttle is set to cut off. These have no effect on the PSI. I can get the heli running if I slew up a couple feet then it’s flying then slew again to put it back on the ground.

It also won’t shut down if you just close the throttle or the valve. I have to flip the pump switches off on the upper panel.

At least the sounds don’t go away during start like after an update in 2020. If you need help testing a/c before a release let me know.

• Additional to not starting cold and dark or after shutting down the 407 it also spawns in with the engine not running when selecting a custom start point on the ground with engine running, ie ready for flight.
