BELLS AND WHISTLES
Flight Sim Break welcomes you to a special event. This time we will fly helicopters. The event is planned around the iconic Bell 47G, star of the TV show M * A * S * H.
Its cruise speed of merely 70 Knots may seem slow, but you will quickly realise that flying close to the ground at 70 Knots feels rather fast in this helicopter. It was built in an era when helicopter flight dynamics were not yet fully understood. Being the first ever helicopter to be certified for civilian operation, the Bell 47 is the pure essence of helicopter flying.
It offers only the bare essentials - in terms of power output, stability and comfort alike. Do not expect any of the flying aids a modern platform offers. If you embrace its age and get a feel for how to work the controls to stay in control, you will be rewarded by an experience unlike any other.
Pilots all across the world love the old 47G for its beautiful simplicity and pure flight dynamics. No other helicopter teaches control coordination like the legendary Bell 47, as even the simplest maneuvers in this bird feel like an accomplishment.
At around 9 in the morning (local time) we will take off from Kern Valley (L05). The route leads us all the way South past Oxnard, until we reach the original filming location for
M * A * S * H in Malibu Creek State Park, just West of Los Angeles. (edited)

If you want to stick around after the event, this area is a great playground for helicopter flying. Especially if you use the M * A * S * H livery for the Bell 47.
