Best app/method to record path of IRL VFR flight?

On an upcoming vacation in Germany, I have a flightseeing tour booked. When I get home, I’d like to refly it in MSFS for fun. Other than dropping pins in my phone app, is there an app that I can use on my phone to track the path like a run or walk would do in the Workout app? I’m not sure if ADSB data is available in the EU, which would be perfect if it was a domestic US flight. Thanks.

ADSB is available in Europe but without an account on a flight aggregator site, you probably can’t get the data you want. Flight track histories tend to be reserved for premium accounts. But all this is if the plane you’ll be on is equipped for ADSB.

Or, if you set up an ADSB receiver at home and submit data, the aggregator sites give out premium accounts. You can do this after and retrieve the data after you sign up. They keep the histories for a while.

Look into Sky Dolly for the replay. It can read different kinds of data and you can probably get the GPS data into it but I haven’t tried to know.

There are GPS tracking apps for recording hikes and bike rides that might get you the track in case the airplane isn’t ADSB equipped but odds might be good since it’s commercial sightseeing. But another bug could be if they have requested the flight data to be private. Even with a premium account, some aggregators don’t let out that data if private. If that’s the case you need your own receiver that can receive and save aircraft tracks in its range but there might be legal issues to receiving ADSB in some countries.

Best bet is some app on your phone that can record paths and export the data so a program like SkyDolly can play it back. I’d work the bugsvout before you go if only on recording paths and exporting data for a program like Sky Dolly.

Check the tour operator web page for photos and see if you can get registration numbers. You may be able to see them flying and if so it will confirm the data is at least available somehow.

Skydemon is what everyone uses in Europe. I believe there’s a free version. I know the paid version does what you want but I’m not sure about the free one.
