Couldn’t agree more.
In my opinion, a mouse should be almost as transparent to MSFS as the USB cable connecting the yoke to my PC.
Interesting discussion, though.
Me? I have found that the Logi “Pebble” M350 ticks all the boxes - price, flexible connections (both Wifi & Bluetooth), battery life, and reliability. It also has a nice low-profile, unobtrusive footprint.

Update:
After a while, my M350 began making plasticky clicking noises in the scroll wheel.
Couldn’t fix it, so I upgraded to the Logitech M650 and I don’t regret it. It’s ambidextrous, very smooth, with ultra silent scroll wheel and clickers. It also has a couple of programmable buttons. It is both Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz compatible and uses disposable batteries (I dislike rechargeable computer accessories.)
Definitely a step or 2 up from my M350.
It’s presently available from several well-known sites on-line. I bought mine new for $20 (the best deal) here:
