Hi guys,
Still can’t make my sim smooth and stable on my PC.
I have 9950x3d (cores without cash do not work on my sim, i only use ccd0 with 3d cache), ssd nvme samsung 990pro, 64 gb ram running on 6000 mhz, rtx 5090.
I mostly fly on airliners and especially long hauls, fly on Vatsim.
My usual settings are something like this:
TAA with dlss frame generation 2x (3x can not be saved in my settings).
Most settings are high and ultra, resolutions are set to high.
I am using 34 ultrawide monitor with 3440x1440 resolution.
Tlod 200, olod 200.
Vsync off, gsync off.
Maybe someone can share settings or give some helpful advices to help me make it smooth and stable.
Main problems are still the same - stutters on landings and when Vatsim has huge traffic in big airports, sound sttuters sometimes. Sttuters on camera moves. Sometimes fpa drops to 50% of starting and stays low until i relaunch my sim.
Please help to fix it somehow.
Are you saying that if you don’t assign core affinities to CCD0, and you have Game Mode ON, that the sim doesn’t use CCD1?
I have a 7950X3D, and if I run mine like that I see all cores being used.
You don’t have X3D Turbo Mode enabled in BIOS, do you?
If so, disable it!
Also, try the Balanced Power Plan (if you aren’t already.)

Insanity that you have performance issues with a set up like that.
I have same CPU and a 5080 and it doesn’t run to well either
I have a very similar system. I cap frames to 30 in the sim and use 2x FG DLSS with no problems. Also enable GSYNC/VSYNC in Nvidia app. Very smooth. I could probably run at 36 but my monitors are 60Hz so really no point.

Capping max frames in the sim does not work for me. I set 30 or 60 or 90 but it always generating max frames with no limit. Only limiting frames in Nvidia app can set the limit.
I have a 4090 and 7950x3d and have almost everything on ultra in 4K. Ground details LOS 400, object LOD 200.
Only trees and gras on medium.
And it’s a very good mostly smooth experience.
Why do you have vsync/gsync off? This is a must for me.
Also, I would recommend to go with DLSS and DLAA (or quality) with your system instead of TAA.
With DLSS 4 and the latest preset K you have almost zero ghosting (you can select in the NVIDIA app, it will override whatever the sim uses). DLAA with DLSS is so much better in my experience, DLAA renders at the native resolution like TAA, but does far better for antialiasing of fences, lines… shimmering and moire effects with TAA is just annoying

Not sure I follow that…. If you set MAX frames at 30 in the sim (not dynamic) and 2x FG you will get no more than 60.
How can that be? Not doubting you, of course.
It just doesn’t make sense. If I set the cap at 40 FPS in the sim it never exceeds 40 FPS (80 FPS with Frame Gen on. If I turn the cap off I can get higher FPS.
I have Gsync ON in NVCP, but Vsync OFF in the sim.

I also trying DLSS with DLAA. DLSS swaped in DLSS swapper. With G sync on now. But I still have ghosting in cockpit. But overall experience is better. Seeing more stable experience but can do NOTHING so far with fps and latency drops (about 50 percent from starting point when everything is almost okay) after my flights, expecially after landings. And fps drop still stands with me also when I end flight and nothing helps before I relaunch my sim.
okay… understanding now that frame gen adds frames in total
No matter the hardware, you’ll most likely get some stutters, mainly on landing and approach. This is due to the current state of the SIM (some bugs and also unoptimized airports and LODs, etc). Asobo is planning on increasing performance of the SIM during the upcoming SU4 beta flighting period.

I understand this. I do not understand why some people have smooth experience also in big airports but me with my setup can do nothing with this. No matter what I fix in my sim I still have no smooth experience at all. BTW MF2020 works perfect for me with all ultra settings.
I’m almost done with this sim that just doesn’t work properly.
I’ve spent almost a month trying every possible fix. First, I upgraded my GPU to an RTX 5080. Then, after endless tweaking and testing, I decided to rebuild my entire system. I switched from i714700kf to AMD 9950x3d and went all-in on it. I carefully tuned the CPU, optimized the sim to run specifically on the 3D cache cores… and yet, things didn’t really get much better.
At some point, I noticed that in big airports the sim was bottlenecking on the GPU, so I upgraded again — this time to the RTX 5090. Now the GPU has plenty of headroom, it’s barely breaking a sweat. But even with this top-tier hardware, I still get massive stutters on landings.
My FPS drops in half. My latency spikes to double.
Nothing helps.
I can’t just land at an airport, park, and continue flying somewhere else. I’m forced to restart the sim every time if I want it to behave even somewhat normally.
And now we’ve got Sim Update 3. Sure, the sim barely crashes anymore, but the real problems are still there. Nothing has fundamentally changed.
I’m just done. I’m tired of wasting my time, energy, and nerves on this. It doesn’t feel like a simulator anymore — it feels like a broken mess.
They have recently stated that they will now address the performance issues in SU4, so I think it is worth waiting for. After that, we will surely be able to see where things are going.

Don’t lose hope dude,mfs2020 was the same at first.
I have the same setup has you,9950x3d/RTX 5090/64gb ram,playing 4K.
I have most stuff in ultra/high settings and LOD at 200,I have my frames locked at 60fps and with bATC with traffic On I get the 60fps.
It’s hard to believe you’re having this many issues with your setup man.
With that setup you should be getting a solid 60fps regardless where you go,yeh I see some stuttering from time to time but it’s the sim not fully optimized yet, nothing to do with your system.
I have fixed almost every issue in 2024. The one and the last is a vram bug that my GPU is not loaded during the flights, expeccially during the second part and fps drops - i also have latency drops after landing and does not return to normal (like on start of the sim), only restart can help. But it’s almost flyable.
