Hello so I have the game through Steam and I would like to completely uninstall and reinstall the game to try and fix some issues and I am wondering what the best way to do this is. If I uninstall the game through Steam it just uninstalls some base files but not all the scenery and add-ons which take up most of the space. I can delete the MSFS folder in appdata but I’m not sure if there’s a better method. Basically, I want to get every trace of the program off my computer before I reinstall the game
Thank you. Like I said, I knew how to uninstall the game by right-clicking on the game in steam, but I have done this before and it doesn’t uninstall most of the game. It looks like also deleting the MSFS folder in appdata should be enough then.

MSFS drops files all over the place. And it doesn’t remove them all when you uninstall. You can search and delete those files manually. This is how I have done it in the past. There is a risk that those files are still in use, which ofc is all on your head if you do this.
Jaytwocents did a video on a programme where he was recommending to people for removing unwanted software - revo uninstaller. This is not a programme I know anything about, or wish to promote. It is just another option that someone else has submitted regarding software removal.
If you want every last drop gone, revo uninstaller will get it all.

I use iObit Powerful Uninstall. It removes much more than just using the normal Windows Control Panel uninstaller. Because after it uninstalls like a normal uninstall, then it shows a list of all the remaining registry items that pertain and asks if you want to also delete those. You click yes or no. If you click yes then it uninstalls all the remnants that it knows about.
I’ve used this program (free) for over 10 years. It never has caused any issues. However it is going to pop up a little advertisement every couple of days. Nagware.
