Usually 2 weeks prior to launch so my guess is that it’ll open next week.
In the q&a they said it was coming “right after” WU7, and that they wanted to do longer public beta testing periods, so

Their stated (in a perfect world) “goal” is two months before a SU launch.

It’s beginning to look a lot like another 2 week beta before release. SU8 releases 1 March am I right?
remember that SU8 was postponed one week so i imagine the beta will be postponed one week too
