This is strange. Not a bug report or even a complaint. It’s actually a good thing. I opted into the beta , and it runs great for me on high end settings. And high end settings only. If I turn anything down, I get a slideshow. It doesn’t make any sense. I normally run the sim with a mix of medium and high settings. So, that’s what I did with the beta 2. It was running terribly. I couldn’t even walk around the airplanes. Stuttering and then finally, freeze. I went to high end. No custom settings. High end only, and it’s butter smooth. Core temps are 74 to 76 degrees, and gpu is at 65 to 68! Some of the lowest temps I’ve seen in the sim. If I go back and turn anything down, back to stutters. I have to put it to high and leave it alone. Has anyone else experienced this?
And I should add, that if I lower settings, my core temperatures jump up to the 90’s! Like I said, it makes no sense. Not to me, anyway.
Very interesting. Quick question. Are you using 2D or VR. I’m going to test it out and I’ll report back soon.
I’m 2d. 1080p. I have an I9 processor, an rtx 3050 video card and 24 g of ramm.
Right I’ve tested it in 2D as there’s no point in VR due to it being so demanding and you’re not VR and with everything turned on Ultra apart from Fauna which is still causing stutters I’m getting a solid 60fps smooth as butter. When I turn settings down to low there is no difference. My specs are AMD Ryzen 9 7900X, 64GB RAM, RTX 4060Ti 16GB, so I’m not sure what’s happening with your system. Could be anything, but I suppose what’s happening to you is a good thing.
I noticed the same a couple of years back with MSFS2020 when they did a Sim Update, my PC was a lower end PC with a GTX 1060 6GB and I experienced a massive improvement and could run a mixture of Ultra and High settings whereas people with beefier systems didn’t notice any improvements, in fact some had worse performance etc.
The thing is when Micro/Asobo make these changes, it’s sometimes at the expense of high end PC users so that lower spec users see an improvement. Take XBOX for example.
No doubt things will change for you and us all in the next BETA Update 
Same here, the settings aren’t working properly with the SU2 beta. I get some very odd behaviour when I try changing them for testing purposes.
