A warning to all my follow flight simmers. I purchased a $470.00 mcp panel from this company. Not only did it arrive cracked in the box it also showed up without any instructions what so ever. After reaching out to Cockpit PHD regarding the damage they told me to file a claim at the post office. Well the box the panel arrived in was in no way damaged… I didn’t think it was fair to make the post office pay for somthing they didn’t break.
I mentioned to them that I would at least like to try to set up the MCP and asked them how I would go about doing that. They told me there was a QR code on the MCP. I checked the panel and the packaging it came in, no QR code anywhere. I sent them another email letting them know about the situation and asked if they could send me the code through our email conversation. Well, this was almost a week ago now, I have tried three times to get a hold of someone, anyone to reply to my emails. Communication on their end has gone completely dark…
I am writing this to get the word out to other people so they dont get taken advantage of and mistreated the way I did. The total lack of support, customer service and immediate willingness to blame the post office was just a joke considering this was a piece of hardware to costs hundreds of dollars.
Thanks for the warning … sorry to hear about your bad experience. I really appreciate this type of “MSFS Community Feedback” about Vendors selling for MSFS. - Thank you for the Heads-up
They do “Claim” to have a 30 day Money Back Policy
( did you buy through PayPal ? )
30 Days Money Back Policy
We offer money back in full if all of the below conditions are fulfilled:
The products were purchased from our authorized channels
Your purchase is within 30 days
The defected products are not replaceable / repairable
We strongly suggest you to contact us to resolve any matter before opening a claim through PayPal. After you open a claim case via PayPal, we no longer provide customer support and will strictly follow the PayPal requirements in resolving the case. Looks like they want prolong time to not user can have 30 days return guarantee.
This is typical step, call us for support but pls don’t use Paypal claim system then we will not communicate further looks like Paypal write not serious sellers to some attention DB
Pls be careful and think to your next steps very carefuly. You want money back for sure or you want use their products? To this decision you need to do next steps in my opinion and very quickly.
I can recommend components from opencockpits . I did not buy MCP but i bought other components and Everything was ok.I’m just considering buying an mcp panel.I rejected Cockpit PHD.They have no address on the website and no movement on FB for a year
I agree. Stay away from this company. They sell junk, it takes forever to be sent and the worst customer service. I bought a flap detent for Honeycomb Bravo. It didn’t work and when I reached out for help they didn’t respond. Into the trash it went. Please don’t be attracted by their cheap prices, It is not cheap in the end.
I would like to post an update. After about a week of waiting they did email the QR code and I was finally able to get the panel setup and working. Overall I feel like what I paid for the MCP I did get my moneys worth. However, I do have to agree with the comments here from people about their customer service.
The instructions they sent where extremely vague at best. With something like this I definitely expect it’s not going to be plug and play like they claim but holy ■■■■… it took my about 4 days if messing with the panel and I had pretty much given up hope. I figured if it takes them a week to send a QR code any other customer help probably isn’t going to be worth it. It was by luck that I googled on of the file names in the manual “Mobiflight” and found software similar to FSUIPC. Then I watch a video of a young kid who gave a fantastic tutorial on how to use it. Thank you Captain Bob your video was more helpful in 10 minutes then the whole week I spent trying to get a QR code.
Either way I did want to take a minute to update this and let people know that the product itself I got wasn’t bad at all for what I paid for it. But just be aware that is you do order something from this place that it’s certainly not plug and play and that your most likely going to have to spend some time figuring out how to configure everything on your own. In the end for the price vs quality I would actually order something again from these guys but only because I know how to set everything up and make it work without relying on there tech support staff.
Also thank you to everyone here who commented with suggestions and input. I really appreciate people taking time out of there to help me out. I will also check out OpenCockPits stuff I remember seeing them pop up in search a while ago when I was looking simulator equipment.
Same warning from me… dont buy from them. They sell cheap broken 3d Printed plastic that arrives broken and they refuse to give you any support. Waisted some money on them, don’t do the same mistake! Buy from a different company
