Big problem error 0x00000001 - 0%
I am asking for help, because I am going crazy.
I have been using MSFS for over a year with no major problems.
Till yesterday.
There was no way I could run the simulator.
As a result, I uninstalled MSFS and Xbox.
After that, I had huge problems reinstalling the Xbox app.
Only today, very, very slowly, I was able to download and install the Xbox.
But unfortunately I can’t install MSFS in any way.
I run the “install” option. A window appears with the installation process and this is the case with 0% of the download. After a dozen or so minutes the following error appears: Error code 0x00000001
I read hundreds of threads and suggestions and I think I did whatever other users suggested and nothing helped.
Sorry, but I am not going to reformat all disks and put the system back up.
I am begging you for help …

Sounds like an issue with your Gaming Services/MS Store. Go to Windows Settings > Apps > Apps & Features and Find Gaming Services. Click Advanced options, then run both repair and reset. Do the same with Xbox App and MS Store. Then go to Windows Start menu, type “wsreset” and run that. Restart your PC, go to MS Store and check for updates. If any are required (such as gaming services), apply them. Then go back to Xbox app and try the install again.
Thank you very much for your support.
Unfortunately. I did all these steps again and still no changes.
Installation freezes in the preparation phase at 0%
Check if your Antivirus or Windows Defender is blocking access to Xbox app - you may need to add an exclusion.
I also checked it. Windows Defender and Avast disabled. I also tried the trick with changing the time. Nothing helps.
I already know this site. I tried all the solutions.
Thank you very much to everyone who tried to help me in difficult moments
After nearly a week of unsuccessful attempts, reinstalling Windows, and many hours spent with Xbox consultants, I was finally able to find a solution to my problems on the Internet.
I will include them here for other people with similar MSFS installation hang issues to take advantage.
Here’s the FIX for anyone in the same boat as me:
- Open Settings —> System
- On the left column, choose the Storage tab then choose “Change where new content is saved”
- Change “New apps will save to:” to whatever drive you want (in my case, M: Drive)
- START → SETTINGS → APPLICATIONS. For this app: Microsoft Store, XBox, Game Services, Application Installer → perform an action - RESET
- Wait 2mins, then restart the PC (???)
Microsoft Store has now created the required folders for Xbox app to use.
Repeat steps 1 to 3 to change your location back to default if you wish.
Glad you got the issue resolved - happy flying
Got this same problem also when the game won’t load. After uninstalling the program tried reinstalling the game but to no avail. Repeatedly I was getting the same error code, 0x000000001. The solution I got was just to repair the Gaming Services app from settings, apps and click repair. Finally the game is installing now.
