They could add HMD tracking without base-stations, to all those peripherals that they sell and convert the Beyond 2 in one of the bigger-bulkier and heavier HMD in the market haha, without built-in tracking…
What is that to not have the own HMD tracking (and controls) or the option to add it, I don´t want the ancient Precambrian base-stations dinosaurs technology that even Valve I think is going to stop selling. They could be the best in VR options with their other HMD specifications. Base stations is a no go for me, discarded.
Now SU2 has added Quad Views, it should unlock higher resolutions and wider FoV on existing GPUs that would otherwise struggle. BSB2 doesn’t cater well for either. It’s still resolution capped at 90Hz and 115degress is great but not groundbreaking so this is uninteresting for me (MSFS and simracing) and disappointing because I was expecting a bit more.
QuadViews makes the Pimax Crystal Super very interesting.
Where did you get the impression that SU2 added Quad Views?
The new option that is there
Didn’t see that one coming. That’s why I overlooked it. Thanks for giving me pointers!
Still interested in this headset. It has its compromises but then they all do.
At this point if it had decent pass through cameras I’d have one preordered. I love having pass though with my Quest 3, being able to see all the switches and controls on my Bravo is nice.
I’m curious to see what other VR headsets come out this year, but the BSB2 in on my radar for my HMD.
I ordered a 2e…It was between that and a PCL for me. Going to be tough to wait until July for it, but it looks like it’ll be worth the wait.
I also upgraded to a 5080 (from a 3080) over the weekend so I can at least crank my G2 settings for the time being.
The Reverb G2 is the only VR headset I’ve ever used. I’ve never used anything else. I’m so interested to see just how big of an upgrade the BSB2 will be.
The fact that the Pimax Crystal range seem to be designed with no regard to ergonomics or comfort has made me very reluctant to drop any more of my hard earned on them. By far the most awkward headset I’ve ever owned (Crystal light), even after over £100 of aftermarket ‘comfort accessories’. Visuals are good though, if you can put up with constant fiddling and feeling like you are wearing two actual TVs strapped to your face!
Hahahaha, and those were the “light” hahaha, I don´t want to know about the weight of the normals hahaha.
Hope they will do it better with the new Dream Air SE, better for all the VR world ecosystem, anyway I will wait for real user reviews for all hahaha
