Anyone else flying the 208 experiencing a black slanted box on top of the plane in the external view occasionally? That happens every now and then, but it casts a shadow on the prop when the sun is behind the plane all the time.
Squirrel had this happen to him once, I think. He wondered why he was suddenly carrying a coffin. 
Yeah, I wouldn’t mind it so much if it didn’t cast that shadow on the prop.

Doing a long flight in a Cessna Caravan, and around 2,5 hours in suddenly I have a weird polygon sitting on top of my plane. It wasn’t there before.
Anyone seen anything like this before?

They disappeared again after 30 minutes (close to sunrise). Odd.
Yep! Those have been around for a while - sneaking in and out of sight. And only on the Caravan too.
Weird that. Looked a bit like a low poly rooftop ski-box.
The caravan has that HF antenna from tail to fuselage and I wonder if that is what it is. The effect would cover that area for wire shadows - just guessing.

Brief description of the issue:
The shadow cast by the C208 has a large rectangular box on top of it. The box will move with the aircraft and extends from about the wing leading edge back to about the middle before the vertical stabilizer.

I was flying over Tahiti when suddenly this box popped up to disappear 20 sec after…

A test by Asobo for the upcoming summer holidays ? 
It’s been a known defect for a couple of versions now. People just discover it randomly.
After many months of not having it, I got it again intermittently on a flight a few days ago.
Just to discard a possible cause: have you activated developer mode before with something special features at display? I only ask for, because once I activated additional vector graphics for airports (that kind of big bubbles) and after I left out of dev mode this graphics still remained…. Might this issue here be in relation to some settings in dev mode although being out of it for a long while?
No, the dev mode was not activated
It’s the internal model showing up for some reason. You can sit in the cockpit and move left/right out of it through the windows and look up and back
Looks like a feature, over a bug.
Where else would you put your mother in law?

They should have mounted a couple of bikes up there, at least you coule have used them for something reasonable ^^

So anyone that flies the Caravan has probably encountered the mysterious black box - roof rack -asw attena, this is how Ive managed to fix it here, twice now.
Go into flightsim.cfg file find the entry that says SeeSelf=0, by default this is set to 1. I change it to 0 because I think its funny to fly up next to another plane and not have anyone in it when they look over at you. 
So anyways change the value to the oppisite of whats it set for in the file, load the sim, if its still there quit the sim and change it back. Remember to save the file.
This has worked twice for me now over that last 8 months.
