Black Square Advanced Turbine and Piston Dukes

That’s really cool, that they plan to include new functionality for a switch that until now was merely cosmetic.

I wonder if you might ask Nick if a more realistic turboprop simulation might be possible in the Duke, specifically, Beta handling and reverse pitch operation? It may not be possible given the limitations of the core sim, but if anyone can do it, I think that BlackSquare can.

Please convey my thanks and appreciation of everything that Nick has done with the other aircraft. I know that countless others would add their names here too. I hardly ever fly anything else now and thoroughly look forward to the Duke especially.

I will relay your requests and concerns, don’t worry… but as you seem to be aware, there are serious limitations upstream. Jaydee had already responded on this matter to someone mentioning the Kodiak.
it was on the BS King air’s thread

click here to see a screenshot of the exchanges he had

I can’t promise anything, but rest assured that Nick is doing his best to do things as faithfully as possible.

Let’s hope that in the future Asobo with their SDK give Nick more room for maneuver.

Looking forward to doing 300 knots tas! Used to love this aeroplane back in the good old days of FSX!

Where did you get that information? I have seen this time mentioned in a few places, but nobody gives a source.

I guess it came from JustFlight facebook announce Just Flight - Now on the website, part of our In...

I admit it wasn’t really said “Projected release in a month or two” but “Not due out for a month or two” wich isn’t really the same

but don’t worry the aircraft is still progressing and get closer to the release !

“According to Just Flight”. That’s the source.

They mentioned it on Facebook in a post and later when replying to a comment.

They did say that in a comment reply. Or else i wouldn’t have literally copied the words because timelines are a sensitive topic and i would never alter such an important statement

I just can’t find the reply now but i’m 100% sure they said those words in that order.

How is the development of these two promising airplanes going?
By the way “Piston Duke” and “Turbine Duke” is such a cool name for an airplane, not manufactur brand + random number all other planes are named.

Can we get some awesome new screenshots please? These two awesome projects might fully place the Baron and the Bonanza in my hangar.

I’m sure I’ll buy this one when it comes out.

I bought the Analog Bonanza, but held off on the Baron. I think I’m glad I did.
The Turbine Duke looks awesome.

I just read this on Wiki…

Built to the quality standards of a King Air, the six-place Duke sported 380 hp [280 kW], Lycoming TIO-541 engines – rare beasts, those – which means when both come due for overhaul, the choice is the overhaul or buying a small house in the Midwest. The assertive lines of the airframe made for a startlingly attractive airplane, but led to high costs of manufacture and, surprising to the casual onlooker, horrendous drag. There are those who claim that the Duke was purposefully designed to be about 30 knots [55 km/h] slower than it could easily have been on the available power simply because otherwise it would have been faster than the flagship of the Beech line, the King Air.

As soon as Justflight posts new ones i will add them. It’s “coming soon”. Shouldn’t be too long.

For those who want to move forward, or are looking for a bit of reading, this website offers plenty of documents related to the Duke, including a POH that corresponds to our two versions (if I’m not mistaken).

So much for the release in 1-2 months… Dukes are scheduled for early next year.

Too bad, they were announced first too. Wonder why the TBM took priority? Maybe it was figured to be a better seller? Or perhaps sound or other data capture got delayed, as can happen often.

Isn’t it obvious?
