Thank you. Nick mentions in the thread that a fix was included with the most recent update, which is what I have and it’s still happening. Maybe a clean reinstall of the aircraft is in order.
Even with all sim failures disabled and the planes failures disabled in the EFB, over torquing the engine, not watching the ITT, and a few other things will still cause engine failure. Thankfully, the Repair Engine button in the EFB works quite well. So watch the torque and ITT, and use the inlet bypass if you’re on any kind of rough or wet surface.
Don’t ask me how I know, but the very fastest way to completely destroy the engine is to leave the inlet cover on when starting…
That’s the problem: I have been watching those things very carefully. Even after hitting the “Repair Engine” button (if it’s even available, since it’s not at 100%), as well as all the other repair options, it still happens. The only thing that fixes it is restarting the flight entirely. That tells me it might be related to the previous bug mentioned with the sim airframe damage, but I do have the current version installed. That said, I know the quality of Nick’s work, so I’m trying to figure out if it’s something I’m doing wrong, because PEBKAC is usually the first cause. ![]()
Very strange. Today I did a 40 minute flight from Shell Harbour Airport (YSHL) to Warnervale (YWVA) with a Direct To GPS route. No issue with the engine and no issue with the autopilot disconnecting. No issues on any of my previous flights either.
That’s with the latest Caravan version 0.1.2. Whatever causes the issues for you guys, it’s probably some kind of interdependency with some other addon, not something fundamentally wrong with the Caravan.
NAV disengagement only happens with a fully analog configuration, it does not happen if a GPS unit is used. And it happens with the Prof. Caravan, Baron and Bonanza, as well as with thr B60.
And I of course tried it with an empty community folder.
There’s a dedicated thread in the Just Flight Forum about this.
Ah, okay. I will try that the next time I get the chance to fly. NAV disengagement of course would be an issue if the signal to the next VOR is lost, but by the sound of it you probably ruled that out already.
Yes. The signal is still received, just NAV mode disengages.
And come to think of it, my engine issues are happening with the full analog setup, too. The only time it didn’t happen was when I was using the Garmin 750… I’ll have to do some messing around to see if that pattern continues, since I have just the one instance of the 750 to go on.
I really hope it’s not an issue with the full analog setup. I love using the RNAV unit to plot my courses!
when is this coming to xbox.?? so sick of waiting ![]()
Hopefully, this week? ![]()
Well, I did a test flight from KOAK to KRNO with MS aircraft damage turned off (MS engine damage left on), and this time it went without a hitch. The BS damage systems continue to work, but I did not experience the issue that I have over the past couple weeks with the catastrophic engine failure, so that’s good. I did experience the NAV issue that @kaha300d mentions twice, which is unfortunate. With as close as you need to watch the instruments anyway on this bird, I am OK with dealing with that for now since you’re already constantly scanning everything to make sure it’s in the green.
This probably means, however, that despite the recent update to the plane that claimed to fix the engine issue, some of us are still experiencing it. I’ll head over to the other forums and see what sort of input I can provide there.
I stopped flying BKSQ aircraft until this gets fixed. I usually make long flights in full analog configuration and don’t want to watch the AP constantly.
I don’t care if Asobo or BKSQ has to fix this, I just want it fixed.
p.s. I also had HDG and APR disengagements.
Yeah, I totally get that, especially since the BS radio NAV systems are so much fun. Personally, I really enjoy setting up flights with that RNAV system. I’ve used it many times on my World Tour that I am doing with the TBM 850.
Right. I never had a NAV disconnect when tracking the offset RNAV VORs.
I really do hope this beauty releases on Xbox MP this Thursday to enjoy over the bank holiday weekend![]()
So much for my wishful thinking ![]()
seems like forever we’ve been waiting for this on Xbox.
I don’t recall seeing any updates about xbox release, but if you head over to the Just Flight forums and post in the Caravan Professional section, Just Flight and Black Square are both fairly responsive and I imagine you’d hear back within a few days.
Hi, could you possibly tell us what is holding up the release in the MP please? Thanks
If I recall correctly, they originally said they only push to Xbox after the first .1 update, but there were a few issues from what I have read on just Flight forums when it was first released. Then on this forum in this very thread:
Thanks, yes, but that was nearly 3 weeks ago. It would really be great if they could try to determine what the hold up is. Other devs are getting things into MP weekly and updating really fast now.
