I take all that on board and have considered that. But it’s less about the model itself and more about what it ends up morphing into and how long that takes. If as it seems it pans out to be another Duke at full price money with fancy tablet gimmicks I won’t use then I’ll be disappointed. If it’s just making it standalone because staying a mod is no longer possible then that’s fine.
My two cents here: There currently is no high quality standalone King Air addon for MSFS 2020. The Black Square Analog Overhaul was a real nice step up, but it was still not 100% standalone since it used the default exterior models and flight model.
Black Square now making a proper standalone King Air will give us King Air fans something that’s truly built from the ground up without relying on anything default and hopefully giving us more exciting features.
The conflict of the existing addon not working in MSFS 2024 is out of BS’ hands unfortunately, but at least we will always have the original BS King Air in 2020.
And who knows? Maybe BS will provide a discount for whomever owns the 2020 version.
hope for a Kingair with a proper avionics what we see in real live.
sorry to say but in the current Blacksquare Kingair overhaul Avionics its not what is in real live.
either old style Arinc (which has a G5) or newer Proline 21 (preferred).
Below is a nice mod (flightsim.to) that replaced the Garmin for Proline avionics. I haven’t flown it for a while, but it was quite good for freeware. (This is unrelated to the Black Square model, for clarity). It borrows the avionics from the WT CJ4, I believe.

thanks yes but it makes the default Kingair not any better, eg electronics still borked.
Because the external model was never modified nor was it the goal. It was an interior and systems modification to mimic the older King Air 350s. A King Air 350i with steam gauges simply doesn’t exist. They come in flavors of Pro Line 21 and Pro Line Fusion avionics. Starting with their TBM 850 they made an entire aircraft (originally it was going to be the TBM 960 with a TBM 850 cockpit and systems). Black Square are redoing all of their steam gauge overhaul series. They will no longer be an overhaul but rather an entirely new proper aircraft.
I’m just curious if they take the opportunity to do a B200 or whether they stick with the 350.
I’ve been begging for the B200 for four years.
I miss using the Aeroworx B200 for FS9.
An older style B200 or B250 would be awesome! A non-winglet version!
Man I used to love that aircraft. I flew it more than anything else. Extra points for having a KLN-90B too.
Flight1’s B200 in FSX and early P3D (v2 / v3) for me, it was the best turboprop simulation(*) on the FSX/P3D platform at the time, but they started charging for every P3D update of it, and it got tiresome.
(*) Ok, it actually shared it with aerosoft’s bronco x, but it was REALLY hard to find a way to fit the bronco into career usage in FSE/FSCaptain/AH2; especially compared to the B200 which had countless natural uses.
I picked up the Black Square King Air in the marketplace sale expecting that as it was one of the highest rating addons in MSFS 2020 it would be going across to MSFS 2024. Massively disappointed to see that it isn’t, but I have no one to blame except myself, I should’ve looked into it first. I know I could just fly it in 2020, but switching between the two sims and the slightldifferent control layout on Xbox is a bit of a ball ache.
End of pointless post.
I salute any xboxer migrated into fs24, you test it for all of us … I stay in safe Bay fs20.
Maybe there’s a possibility: copy the King Air from 2020 into 2024 and then you eventually will be able to fly the Black Square in 2024. I haven’t tested this, though. Maybe you can find more info here:

I also miss the Black Squares in MSFS 2024 The King Air is fantastic, much better than the stock one.
This sounds like an option, but I’m in Xbox so it’s out
Get the Duke. It’s Like a Brother. Excellent work and you will get it in 2024.
I have been using the BS King Air in 24, but only just noticed that the instrument lights are inop. Also inop in the Dukes. Anyone else?
You probably have checked everything, but I remember in the past someone was having difficulty with the lights and it turned out to be something simple like the master on the overhead panel or a circuit breaker or something… I can’t remember.
So does this aircraft work in MSFS 2024? I miss it so much and I want to fly it again.
