Absolutely fizzing… Gosh I hope that I am able to relive my childhood memories at my local airport with this…

And hopefully it does come to us sometime in 2024…

Any chance, being predominantly “pride of American aviation…” company…

Any chance of one of these birds :grin::grin:

Anybody have a summary of what was shown in the stream? It was quite late in Europe and I only watched the first hour or so. Some technical issues too.

What I did see was a demo the the upcoming T-6A Texan II. That one looked quite amazing. They talked about a technology called ADV, which sounded similar to A2A’s Accusim, enabling better simulation of aspects not properly covered by Asobo’s engine.

Blackbird will probably upload the video to YouTube, like they did with previous streams. I am most interested to hear more about upcoming helicopters.

It’s a shame that there is no VOD to watch for us who missed it. It seems like it’s a trend among developers to stream and not save it afterwards for us who doesn’t have the possibility to watch

Yeah, hopefully there will be a video at some point. Many people don’t have the time to watch a two to three hour live stream. I never watch a live stream live.

You’d think they’d be interested in every potential customer getting a chance to see what’s cooking, instead of treating it like an exclusive “You missed it? Too bad …” kind of thing.

Yes I would love for someone (including Blackbird themselves) to put out a summary of the highlights.

Funny that they didn’t provide a simulcast on YouTube like their last one, that way if you missed it, you could at least watch it on the YouTube’s…. I don’t know what they were thinking this time around.

PS. Why haven’t they even updated thier discord announcements page? It’s like guess what’s comming? oh you missed it too bad…

UPDATE: I just scrolled through thier discord chat, and they will be uploading to YouTube “it will take time”. Discord

That great, thanks!

Not an exhaustive list, just some of what I remember.

Generally speaking, products released under Blackbird Simulations will have their custom external physics and fight model (ADV), full systems modeling, and state of the art graphics/sound fidelity. Products released as Shrike will have standard MSFS systems depth and flight model.

No releases confirmed for 2024 except the T6A. Everything will be done when its done.

UH-1H - External model and cockpit shown in detail, looks amazing. Flight demonstration given. ADV flight model and systems from their TH-1H training simulator for the military, so will be better than the DCS Huey.

SR-71 - External model and cockpit shown in detail. Looks amazing, as good or better than anything out there. ADV fight model, all systems modeled (front seat only).

T-38 - Not shown. Will also have the ADV flight model and systems from their military simulation.

C-130 - Cockpit shown. ADV flight model, won’t be on the Xbox due to custom glass panels.

A6M Zero - They intended to show it but couldn’t, will release pics after January 4th when they return to work.

FG-1D Corsair - Will be revamped at some point to bring up to current standards.

A few other planes were mentioned that will be Shrike products since they can’t model the system due to systems being classified, such as the B-1B.

A-10, F-86, F-15 and F-16 had brief mentions.

Any word on the 737-200?

I don’t recall the 737 being talked about but I might have missed it. The stream was almost 2 hours so there were parts I wasn’t paying attention to.

T6 , meh , skip
SR71, meh , skip
UH1 , meh, skip
C130 not coming to xbox , massively disappointing, guess these guys don’t want people to spend money , overall , nothing to look forward too from this developer

Maybe you should rephrase your complaint.

..these guys don’t want me to spend money…

I’m definitely interested in the SR-71 and the C-130 and I absolutely can’t wait for the Huey!

I don’t care too much about the T6 either, though. Not too fond of aircraft that are pretty much only trainers or aerobatic aircraft.

PC User Opinion:

  • T6 Meh… I have the IRIS glass cockpit version and I enjoy it. I’m still going to purchase the Blackbird analog version though.

  • SR71 I originally thought I would pass on this one, as I thought "Great, another addon that just goes fast that I can’t see out of it like the SR-72 Darkstar. Playing a video game inside of a video game doesn’t do anything for me. However, after researching the cockpit view…I’m definitely going to purchase this one. It has a fantastic view and can fly at airliner speeds with ease. I can see out the windows so I can fly in formation with airliners (I hope) and I can see the MSFS world at the same time.

  • UH-1 There was never any doubt I would purchase this iconic aircraft. Knowing it will have a Milviz/Blackbird “soundtrack” makes this the most certain purchase I’m going to make of ANY MSFS addon that will ever be made. Ever since Crazy first hinted at the development of this aircraft, I have eagerly awaited to listen to Blackbird’s “High-Def recording” of the symphony that is the UH-1. I have no doubt it will inherently be a “High Fidelity” systems and flight model addon.

  • C-130J Although I like the C-160 and C-23A, having the C-130J is also a guaranteed purchase for me.

  • F-15C In Blackbird fidelity? Guaranteed purchase

  • T-38A If this is actually a real possibility - Guaranteed purchase. One of the most elegant designs (IMO) next to the F-16 (IMO). Even if this one turns out to be only Shrike/MSFS fidelity.

  • F-86 I’ll probably still buy this, even if it’s a Shrike product. I can fly the freeware port until an actual addon is released. If it’s Blackbird fidelity - Double Guaranteed purchase.

  • A6M GUARANTEED purchase. It is the only warbird missing from a warbird “collection” that would complete the Pacific Theater in MSFS.

So, for the one person that will pass on Blackbirds’ products (Although XBox/Ace Combat gamers might actually be the majority market), there is at least one person that will buy almost everything you release… whenever that might be.

Looks like the A-10 is coming to FS2024. I wonder if these guys are developing it?

It’s not us. We are doing one but…
