yes i indeed did. no joy. also haven’t heard a single peep from the dev when contacted for support.
Did you try redownloading the installer?
I see different missions pop up every day. So probably you just need to wait a bit for the missions to generate. Here is currently what is there in freelancer for me:
But it is slightly different in employee:
Could you see what the range of the cargo mission that made the Islander ineligible? Islander endurance, according to Wikipedia, is 755nm, and the 208 is 1070nm.
The ones I looked at were about 600nm - so if you take into account that the range published is probably not fully loaded, the BN-2 may be unable to complete these without either going overweight from too much fuel or not even making it with full tanks.
Did you buy the BN-2 or the BN2? Dash -2 someone was saying is not compatible with 2024 but the BN2 is. I don’t know if direct from Blackbox is different to MP. I bought mine, BN2, in MP and it works in 24.
This mission incompatibility sounds a bit like Someone or AI is not taking much notice of the specs. But this is a common fault in career mode with something always spoiling the experience.
By the way, when you were doing your skydiving mission in the BN2 what Kts could you get in climb and cruise?
Not exactly sure, I’m usually climbing just above stall speed and diving just below Vne to improve mission time score, and cruise for skydiving is pretty slow for their safety, I think around 100kts
Yes, I did not get much more than that - 110kts. Is this underpowered for a twin?
The BN2 Islander’s cruise speed is approximately 255–257 km/h (158–160 mph or 138–140 knots). However, the exact speed can vary depending on the specific model, altitude, and power settings. Some sources list slightly higher or lower speeds, such as 148 knots TAS or 260 km/h.
-
Typical cruise speed: 255–257 km/h (158–160 mph or 138–140 knots)
-
Factors that influence speed: Altitude, power settings, and specific aircraft model can cause variations.
-
Additional performance data:
-
Maximum speed: 273 km/h (170 mph)
-
Stall speed: 64 km/h (40 mph)
-
Rate of climb: 970–980 ft/min (5.0 m/s)

Oh, I can cruise much faster, but for Skydiving you don’t want to cruise at a high speed. I’ll have to do some testing in free flight to see what I could achieve without worrying about ripping the skin off my client’s faces.
Thats cracked me up ![]()
I was climbing around 105kts and cruising now at about 140, which is the end of the green band on the ASI, albeit that’s with full power across the board in a totally empty analog cargo variant.
Ok, that means something wrong my end in SU3. Thanks for looking.
overhead compass and compass rose on Ins panel are different
Managed to get 130kts today at cruise. SU3
Try looking for the keybind that automatically corrects gyro drift - my guess is that’s what’s happening to the heading indicator, though it shouldn’t be given we have no knob to correct it manually.
OK will try
, but it should be correctly matched by the Developer and synchronised. We should not have to do this having paid for it.
Several planes require manual sync of the DG, payware too. But if the dev doesn’t provide a knob to do this, that’s a problem.
I have never done this before, do you know how - to save me a ton of research ![]()
What you would do is compare the whisky compass reading, and make the DG match that via a little adjustment knob.
I see only a heading knob, but it could have a dual function, like pushing it in or pulling it out so that it no longer sets the heading bug, but rotates the card to match the compass.
I’ll have a quick look in a bit in case I can sse the same behaviour.
In my BN2 the heading bug does not set with a L click while pressing R click. You physically have to turn it which is annoying.
I will try too. Also see if there is a setting.
