Blocked from update; locked out of FS

Do you have any add-ons in your Community folder? If yes, please remove and retest before posting. NO.

Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it? NO

Brief description of the issue: Since yesterday (5/25/21), coincident with release of new FS version (1.16.2.0), when I attempt to launch FS, I get instead Microsoft Store UI (presumably to begin the update); however, everything fails there. The Downloads and Updates page announces two errors, one in Digital Ownership download, then the Gaming Services download (see screen shots).

I’ve rebooted several times (this was recommended in the forum), but nothing helps. I am TOTALLY BLOCKED. Please advise!!!

Detail steps to reproduce the issue encountered: Launch Flight Simulator. The problem begins immediately.

PC specs for those who want to assist (if not entered in your profile) Dell XPS 8940, Intel i7 at 2.9 GHz. RAM=32GB; Windows 10 64-bit; installed on 2TB SATA drive.

Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue: When attempting the 1.16.2.0 update.

Are you on the Steam or Microsoft Store version? Microsoft Store.

Did you submit this to Zendesk? If so, what is your ticket #? NO. I’m not familiar with Zendesk

Have you looked at the see details clickable.

Might need to reset the Microsoft store.

In the See Details box, I see only a message that “something unexpected” happened, and then “Code: 0x00000000.”

Look up that code. It should give you some clues.
