Blurred textures

Hi Simmers,

today i flew from mongolia to Bhutan. I was really wondering due to the blurred textures. i never saw that before in that ugly dimension, I never regognized this behaviour in any other part of the world … After this sad event i took off from KLAS to compare… result is, no such textures … hmmm … looks like, that the texture resolution is not that good than for example in the united states …?!

My Monitor is 1920 * 1080 … my settings are mostly high … the settings with the slider are all set on 100 …
As well a picture to look at …

Not all parts of the world have satellite imagery of the same level of detail. This will evolve over time.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the case for overflying that part of China…

take a look at the satellite imagery on Bing Maps,

You’ll likely find it low quality, or covered by clouds.

Regardless of Bing Maps Coverage this could also be due to your Internet Connection or strength of the Server you are flying on within the Sim, on a few occasions I’ve flown in familiar areas and noticed the Ground Textures are blurred and very low res so I restarted the Flight and most times that fixed it. Like it needed to reconnect to the server or something.

thanx for your replies… guess it is the low resolution in my case. Nevertheless, I am glad that ZMUB isn´t my homebase :-p …

It is, as mentioned, due to Bing data.
It relies on air/satellite imagery, which is rather hard to obtain when the airspace over those countries is strictly controlled, or is rarely travelled over.

but there is one thing i didn´t understand. It is only a part around the aircraft which will be blurry and is moving with the aircraft. As you can see in the front, the textures are sharp. They will be blurry depending on the moving aircrafts position … hmmm … behind the aircraft all blurred textures will be sharp again after a while when the plane has passed a certain distance …

So it is not only this part on the picture wihich has got blurred textures … !! Any suggestions ?

That looks more like an LOD issue.
That particular issue has been discussed a lot in here.

Had similar in the same part of the world over the weekend. However, those blurry textures were popping in to replace higher res ones the closer I got (usually happens the other way round).

You could try emptying the rolling cache folder.
That would get rid of any stored scenery issues that could affect this.

yeah, I saw all the threads … I only was wondering that there are huge differences in the world map …

I suspect that is probably due to the photo-imagery.

Parts of Canada are just as bad.
