I’m sure trees never used to be rendered so badly. I remember 3D trees once, or was that my imagination?
With the latest updates, trees appear to be formed from low resolution sprites with some post-processing applied that creates randomised shimmering. This shimmering to me looks different in each rendered eye in VR.
When I’m looking around the cockpit and airframe, it’s sharp enough, but when I gaze out over wooded areas, it’s a blurry, shimmering mess. This is really uncomfortable for my eyes.
Increasing supersampling somewhat reduces the issue, but not enough, and it hits the frame rate considerably on my RTX 3080 Ti. I’m keeping to TAA as DLSS just exaggerates the problem.
I’m using a Valve Index.
I’m not sure anything more can be done to improve trees? Maybe some 3rd party plugin-in?
