Hello,
For some reason, the ground textures are quite blurry as seen in the attachment. I have terrain level of detail set to 170 and most other settings on high or ultra. Anyone know a fix for this?
No, it’s not just one place that has blurry textures. This happens in Ireland, France, Norway, etc.
Don’t worry, it’s just because the servers are overloaded.
Check again in a few hours ( or days) and all will be back to normal again.
Rolling cache is on or off?
Yep, no improvement. I even set ULTRA preset and the scenery in the distance is just disgusting. No trees, buildings or nothing.
Rolling cache is on
Try deleting the rolling cache, if you know how to get into the config file set both LoDs to 4.000000 and hit save as
I’ve read that deleting the Europe update and reinstalling helps as well
Is that the France world update, or all the world updates in Europe that you mean?
Also, I’ll try that LOD factor now
Where ever you were having the blurry textures I’d uninstall the update in content Manager and reinstall it
This is really unacceptable. Really blurry terrain until almost right over it. I dont have a problem if it was a medium LOD but this is definitely to lowest resolution it could go. I have not changed my settings between SU4 and 5. Never had terrain blur this badly.
Since the last hotfix i’ve been experiencing a lot of blurry textures. Before that with SU5 the textures were pin sharp at all times, now its 50/50 whether ill get burries or not.
This really is a pain… it’s actually doing my eyes in! They keep trying to focus in something that wont come into focus.
Honestly, with this and the missing/low quality buildings issue in many places this sim has taken a dive graphically. For the fist time in 500+ hrs I’m really not enjoying it much at the moment.
I’ve been flying on my series x and I’ve noticed I never get blurry textures, I loaded in on my high end pc into KMIA and half the terminal was floating in air. On my series x it wasn’t the case. Both using payware. Not sure what it is but I’m sure it’s fixable
Agreed it’s disappointing for sure I’ve read that turning multiplayer off or switching to server that isn’t overloaded helps as well. It’s got to be the load on servers just not able to keep up with how many people are on it and in turn is not rendering scenery as it normally did during SU4. Lots of issues in the Europe region specifically
I haven’t tried turning MP off. Will give that a go.
Switching servers didn’t work. I went from EU North to US East (it would have been 5.00am on the East coast… probably the least load on the server possible at that time of the morning) and still got blurry textures.
If this is all a bandwidth issue then it needs sorting asap. We’re dealing with one of the richest tech companies on the planet here! It’s their current flagship product. They must have known there would be massive use with the Xbox release. To not have enough server capability is unforgivable.
I did question how they were going to be able to sustain this without a subscription model. If they were hoping to fund it though Marketplace sales then they are going to fail… the Marketplace is trash as at is. I certainly don’t buy anything from it and neither do most people I know (slow updates, inferior products a lot of the time, no receipts. No thanks!)
I know a lot of people hate subscriptions, but at this point I’d happily pay a sub just to get a consistent, high quality experience.
Sorry, went off on a ramble there. Coffee kicked in
EDIT: Just seen your previous post about it being fine on your Xbox. That’s interesting. that would certainty indicate it’s not a bandwidth issue.
Oh well. I’m off to try a flight. Lets see what this one brings…
Ive had blurry textures on xbox series x today flying around Jerusalem. I have no idea if they are intentionally like that because Israel hasn’t had the same treatment with the World Updates or a server overload issue.
I’ve done four test flights this afternoon. North Spain, Italy, Scotland and North of LA.
I’m in the UK and used the North Europe server.
For the first time in 3 days every one was flawless. Sharp textures at all times.
Going to check out Jerusalem now to see if I’m getting what @Ant1975uk is seeing.
Yup, Jerusalem is a blurry mess.
Not flown there before, but flew down from Beirut to Nazareth a month or so ago and at no point did i ever think it looked blurry. The Ortho isn’t as good as it is in the UK/US etc, but it certainly never looked like it does in Jerusalem.
