For the life of me I never could get this airplane to start. I watched YouTube videos and followed their steps but it never would kick to life. A little frustrated to say the least
Did you access the clipboard in the right hand door pocket?
You need to disable the various covers, etc. or the engines will not start.
Check this too:
Clipboard is what is missing. Thanks so much!
This thread deserves to stay separate
Maybe change the title… “BN2 Islander: Why can’t I start it?”
And please check the solution box on the appropriate post…
How can I disable the engine covers if the download didn’t have the covers on the engines when downloaded from the MSFS2020 marketplace in the first place.
You have to plug in ground power before starting it’s a switch somewhere for that
That switch isn’t just for ground power, it also turns the power to the starters on and off. That’s why it’s labelled “external power / starter isolate”. Turning the switch up doesn’t connect external power, it just turns off the isolaters so the starter motors are powered. If you want external power you have to call ATC on the comms radio and request it.
Er … What ?
OK. Something else related to both the BN-2 Islander AND the BN-2T Turboprop: What is that irritating ticking sound I get with both aircraft (in MSFS2024), both inside and outside the cockpit. Even if power is off, it keeps on ticking.
Anyone else encounter this? Or is it just me?
Both planes were originally purchased in the MSFS2020 Marketplace and then came over into MSFS2024 Library.
Thanks!
They are not yet 2024 compatible, from what Blackbox said, they are in the testing phase now, so will hopefully be available soon!
Absolutely they are not. Try taking off in the Islander and see how you get on.
Other than the ticking, I was able to startup and fly the Turboprop BN-2 yesterday without issues (as far as I could tell). Have not tried the piston version yet.
Well perhaps if you were patient until we get them working in 2024 and announce releasing the patch you’d have more success ??
