Brief description of the issue:

The transponder controls are not true to real life, and the way they are done in the sim is clunky and slow. In the sim, you have to go to ‘A’ to set the first digit, ‘B’ to set the second and so on. AFAIK by looking at documentation and how many many other transponders work, the two knobs on either side of the number display set the numbers of the transponder. The knob on the left sets the two high digits, and the knob on the right sets the two low digits. The “ABCD” knob is actually just setting the transponder mode (described by the reference in the image below).

Removed from BR as this is intentional and works as designed.

The most fun part of every new AH release is finding out which errors they supposedly made on purpose. See-through prop spinners, anyone?

holy cow
I heard it was bad but didn’t know it was THAT bad..

This is intentional, and works as desgined..? aka, AH does not know how the instrument works and doesn’t care either.. . nice

It’s not working as designed, that is not how the 707 transponder works. AH have gotten it wrong.

I agree that it may not be how the real one works.
I can’t comment on that.
It is working as this version was designed.
It is not an error in coding.

I agree with you as well, it’s not a “bug”. I just hope that feedback is not lost by moving it into a different areas of the forums and can still get bubbled up to the developer.

Senior staff here do follow topics quite closely, so I suspect it would not be lost.

If folks are concerned, one way it could be done is to enter a wishlist request to have the transponder upgraded to a more correct version.

Perhaps better for community satisfaction at times like this, if you’re not going to allow users to classify them as bugs, then move them to Wishlist?

Edit: Ha, I didn’t see your response just before mine

Since you moved it here, maybe you can save people the trouble and keep them happy by moving issues like this for them to Wishlist, since, obviously, that’s what y’all see them as?

Makes sense, too, due to the general rule that normally multiple threads on particular aircraft aren’t allowed, but, issues like this will clearly get lost in the main thread.
