Boeing 737 Max performance degradation over time

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
The performance of the sim massively degrades over time when flying this aircraft in career mode (not tested in free flight). Flight starts with good performance, after 2-3 hours of flight everything gets horribly laggy and only degrades more over time. Did only see this issue so far with the 737. GPU is not the limit, VRAM is not full, RAM is not full. CPU seems to be too busy, causing constant stutters. A shame since the 737 Max would otherwise at least be somewhat usable which is a notable exception in this mess.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
Boeing 737 Max

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
Yes

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Every long flight

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Fly a career mission with the 737 that is >3 hours (real time, not whatever is shown in the mission selection screen)
  2. Observe performance degradation
  3. Be frustrated once again

• Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• I have consistently observed this issue in Career Mode (haven’t tried in Free Flight) during flights where the simulator is running for more than three or four hours. When a similar length flight is flown in a shorter “real world” time using Sim rate x2 or x4, the issue isn’t perceived at the end of the flight. The entire sim “lags” and feels sluggish (going to a menu during the flight). Once the flight ends, performance goes back to normal.

My PC specs are: 5800X3D CPU, 64Gb RAM, RTX 4070 GPU

Really similar. I get huge performance drop that corresponds to a wide increase in memory usage. I’ve recently upgraded my computer to 64GB DDR5 Kingston Fury (5600mT/s), but the RAM occupation continously climb reaching saturation. While approaching, the simulation stutters to unsustainable levels with huge delay in commands.

PLEASE NOTE: This issue only happens with default 737 Max 8 IN CAREER MODE. No other default plane (usable in career mode) seems to be affected. The ram usage while in free flight stays acceptable with 737 Max8, althrough in comparison with other vehicles it seems eating more RAM and VRAM.

USING BETA SU2 latest release (but the issue was still here with SU1 official release)

• Sorry for Italian language in the screenshots.

This is after the takeoff, and the RAM usage is already doubled.

• The initial climb is terrible, not smooth at all. Its all over the place when climbing in VNAV. Settled out after about 3000 ft.

I was flying the 737 from EGPH to EGLL when approx 40 minutes in the 737 began to ossilate in the decent. The controls became extremely sluggish. The PC was not any where near the limit etc. This has happened a couple of times. I have only purchased the sim a couple of days ago. My PC is state of the art. I’m going through and trying to find out if there are any default aircraft (airliners) without issues.

• I came here looking for a solution and don’t see any. The max works great and I believe no issues on shorts flights. I thought it was the simulator but this doesn’t happen in the Fenix on the same exact longer route. It’s a stutter every 2 seconds, very annoying and adds time to the flight, and hard to land. Sucks there are no other small Boeings to fly in 2024 cause the paywares don’t yet work. Since SU2, I actually think this max flies great and everything finally works as it should but this stutter remains and is unacceptable. I guess I can only do short flights for now.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:
• I usually get 60fps on average with DLSS quality and ultra/high settings. I9-10850k and RTX 4080 32gb ram. I only fly in Free flight mode.

Did you find out if any other default aircraft have this issue? Or did you find out what’s causing this?
