Boeing 747 & 787 navigation displays not working after AAU2

Hi all.

After the AAU2 update I noticed that the navigation displays on both Boeing 747 & 787 don’t show the full flight plan. They only show the first few waypoints & after that, the aircraft can’t follow the route.
I don’t have any modifications + the IRS is always set.
Any ideas?

Thanks everyone.

That might be a fms programming issue, did you program the fms or World map

Yes I have.

World map or FMs? You didn’t specify which, if world map you might need to put the Sid’s in yourself, same with stars

I tried both.
The problem is that it only shows the path between the first few waypoints, as you can see in the picture.

I’ve noticed the same and found that it’s a Discontinuity" problem. It does it at every flight plan I load from world map. Once you remove the discontinuity in the MCDU then the flight plan will be completed.
If this is not your problem you might post a pic of the VFR map and of the flight plan in the MDCU where you’ve found the gap .

Title is misleading. The navigation systems of the 747 and 787 have changed with AAU2. They are working fine but the system now is more realistic and requires different behavior from the pilot.

The solution to this problem is to do some research on proper Boeing navigation procedures. Many good videos exist on YouTube.

Pro tip: Just because something changes or doesn’t behave as expected doesn’t mean it’s broken.

Also check the FMS flight plan for any legs marked Vector. That means the FMS wants you to manually fly that leg. If I recall correctly the legs marked Vector do not show on the Nav display.

They appear now on the 747 and 787 displays. These often show up for a STAR that says on the chart at the exit waypoint “to expect vectors to the runway approach” or something similar. These are for STARs that have an exit waypoint feeding multiple approaches and runways.

Whenever I reach VECTORS, MSFS ATC gives me the vector to the approach entry waypoint and clears me to that waypoint. I then copy the waypoint over the VECTORS leg in the FMC and the FMC routes me directly to that waypoint. IMHO pretty impressive! Although the process might be quite different if MSFS ATC isn’t used.

Misleading?
You gotta relax a little bit.
I didn’t say it’s broken, I couldn’t get it working so I came here to ask pros for a solution.
No need to be so hostile, buddy.

Thank you so much.
Fixed!

You said they weren’t working which for the majority of users could mean broken which reality is it is a User error

I didn’t say that. Don’t put words in my mouth.
It’s not my job to understand it for for you.
Solution has been found, thanks to our friend.
Please calm down & move on.

The oOP has fixed the issue, so there’s no need for the unnecessary back and forth chatter.
