What is the shortest route, airport to airport, that a real 747 flies?
There used to be domestic flights in Japan with the 747-400. Not sure if these still exist, but I guess these were among the shortest ever?
I don’t know about specific routes though.
Thai airways flew all sorts of metal from 747’s, 777’s, 787s , A300/A330/A340, on the Bangkok-Phuket route, which is an hour flight.
The last time I flew it, we departed Bangkok on a 747 and returned on an A300-600.
Thank you. That video was wonderful. Since I only fly by autopilot I may forget flight sim and just play that video over and over. HaHa
The Japanese 747 domestic routes got taken over by other planes after 2014 apparently. I can’t seem to find a historical list of them, but I know one of them was Tokyo Haneda (RJTT) to Osaka Itami (RJOO) because it was made famous by the JAL 123 incident.
This probably doesn’t count, but it was a 9 minute flight to retire (and strip) the aircraft in Cardiff …
ups 747’s do all kinds of short stuff like ksdf-kmsp, ksdf-kdfw, etc.
